I was brought up to believe that, if I disagreed with someone's views, I countered them by reasoned debate and, hopefully, strength of argument. I must be very old.

@kimgrant3879 They would need the agreement of the local authorities. Just as any foreign police service wishing to investigate something in Britain would need that of ours.

I worry for him. Should Scotland ever become an 'independent' province of the Bruxelles Empire, where will he get the frequent, large, and subsidised meals which he clearly consumes on a daily basis in Westminster?
3
@brucemitch928 Westminster is the British Parliament, not the English one. I suspect that, were the English to be allowed to vote on Scottish independence, there would be a huge majority in favour. It would then be interesting to see what happens when France & Spain, worried about Basque nationalism, veto a Scottish application to become an EU province, and the habitual SNP cry of 'Gae us mair siller' is met by deaf ears. As to personal attacks, did the SNP rather write the textbook on the subject?
3
@daithiobeag It is academic in any case, as Spain and France would veto any application in any case. Likewise, Germany would be opposed, as they already have enough basket case economies to prop up.
3
@seàn367 Are you? Very honest of you to admit it.

Good morning, Ms. Vennells. Good morning, Mr. Beer. Ms. Vennells, until 2019 you were Group CEO of Post Office Limited? Was I? I don't recall that. Who are you again, by the way?
2
@daithiobeag Stick it to Westminster by taking the burden that is Scotland off the hands of the rest of the UK? Hardly. Certainly, the rest of us would welcome a break from the endless 'gae us mair siller' from your Krankie woman, but, sadly, it won't happen, because of the fear of Basque Separatism and the fact that the last thing Bruxelles need is another basket case economy reliant on hand outs.
2
@mrp5169 Why do you consider John Bercow to be relevant here?
2
I believe that Mr. Lammy has gone on record as being opposed to British troops being sent to Ukraine, as he does not believe that Britain should interfere in South American politics.
2
Be fair, The Dear Leader doesn't want to annoy potential Labour voters.
2
History teaches that there is nothing quite so dangerous as a desperate politician. The Dear Leader is seeking to strut about the world stage, posing as a Political Titan, because he is utterly despised by the majority of the British people, and the British economy is collapsing. perhaps he believes that an exciting overseas military adventure will win him backing at home? I believe that General Galtieri had the same thought in Argentina in 1982.

It is the way he was trained. He is rather scarily good at his job.
1
I have a fear that, should there be another Referendum, the Scots will still choose to remain a millstone around our necks.
1
Was that a direct quotation from the minutes of Dear Leader's most recent Cabinet Meeting?
1
As, apparently, no-one ever spoke to her or told her anything, we will never know.
1
Because we are in the middle of government by soundbyte, rather than by policy.
1
Having seen that 'CRIMINAL LAWYER' Jarnail Singh giving evidence, It is difficult to believe that he ever had any licence of any sort, except perhaps to drive a car.
1
Unfair. She can recall with absolute clarity anything which she thinks puts her in a positive light, as well as undocumented conversations in office corridors. It is only everything else she 'cannot recall'.
1
@davidcooks2379 Perhaps you are unaware that the population per square kilometre in England (as opposed to Great Britain as a whole) is now higher than that of India?
1
She is still an ordained priest. Had Justin Welby had his way, she would have been Bishop of London.
1
At that level, corporatespeak has almosr entirely replaced normal forms of communication.
1
I wonder if the flak jacket was made to measure, and paid for by Lord Alli?
1
It was actually something he promised he would do.
1
No. She ceased to be CEO of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in 2021. However, she probably doesn't know that, as doubtless no-one told her.
