Bragging? He was simply recounting his experiences. Isn't it easy to be judgemental 110 years after the event, on a laptop whilst sitting in a comfy chair? You must be really proud of yourself.

@misspurrr-fect3684 They were not 'deducted.' Payment was stopped from the day of the sinking. Cruel by modern standards, but common practice at the time and, indeed, something which happened to crews as late as WW2.

@Friday0891 No. It wouldn't because Astor & Guggenheim had never expressed their opinions, whilst Straus had already spoken in favour. 'A Night to Remember' was made in the 1950s, well before fools like you fell for the conspiracist myth invented in the early 1990s.
