  1. Sadly, the more Orwell I read, the more I have come to realise that he was both a seer and a prophet. His remark “The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history” has become chillingly accurate. Apparently, some universities are now warning students that 1984 contains material which is 'offensive and upsetting.'
