@PJRayment I know he didn't say "Musk did not create the disturbances in Britain" because I did. 'Apparently' is an adverb meaning "evidently" or "obviously." Nowhere in that definition is any suggestion that it is an explanation of what others thing or feel.

You need to look a little more deeply into German politics in the 1930s. In November, 1932, the nazi party won 33.1% of the vote. Even after a campaign of violence, by March 1933, immediately after the Reichstag fire, it had only increased to 43.9%. There was opposition, which was systematically crushed by the German police, and by 'Peoples' Courts, set up in 1934 to try those accused of “crimes against the state”. Protective custody was introduced for those who 'might' commit a crime. This meant people could be arrested and interned. even if they had not broken the law. You might think that this has a familiar ring to it. I could not possibly comment.
