He could paint a whole apartment in a week-end. Two coats!!' I admit it is better heard when delivered in a faux German accent, rather than read, however.

  5. @Ambander1 I wonder if you might supply a source where details of this vast number of peace offers might be read? You don't consider that invading Czechoslovakia, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and Belgium, all without declaration of war, might just possibly have been considered rather bad form in some quarters, perhaps?

When Britain and France declared war on Germany after her invasion of Poland, the British Prime Minister was one Neville Chamberlain. Churchill was not even a member of his Cabinet until the same day.
