@jeffelmore5614 Many of the sentiments expressed about Mauretania at the end of this video also applied to Old Reliable. I hesitate to use her actual name, as doubtless it will provoke comments from the loons raving on about the celebrated and totally fictitious 'switch!'

@willbreckinridge8010 Acquitania, Mauretania's half-sister did. She was scheduled for withdrawal in 1940 when replaced by Queen Elizabeth, but 'events' spared her until 1950.

@willbreckinridge8010 She was slightly newer than Olympic & Mauretania, and refits had kept her in reasonable condition. She also had somthing of a following, and was known as 'The Ship Beautiful.' The decision was made to keep her going until QE was ready to replace her.
