What mkes you think that the British & French wanted a war? Their treaties with Poland were intended to deter further German expansion, and to prevent any such war.

You do know that the Enigma of WW2 was rather more advanced than that of pre-war?

How?

@josephanderson8655 The treaty the British and French made with Poland was an attempt to prevent further German expansion, and thus avert a European war. Why do you believe Germany should have been allowed to conquer most of Europe without let or hindrance in 1914 & 1939. I read your original post, and of course disagreed with it. Certainly, Germany made peace feelers in WW1 after the Royal Naval blockade began to bite, but in WW2 the 'Appeal to Reason' was the nearest they came to it, if 'surrender or we bomb you' can be so called.

@josephanderson8655 Sorry? Who invaded Belgium in August 1914? Your nation which didn't want war managed to invade Poland, Denmark, Norway, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Belgium and the Soviet Union, all without any declarations of war. As for offering peace, what offers were made, and when? I assume that you are a neo-nazi? Many of your sort have the same delusions.

The British in 1939 had 13 divisions. The war on land was dictated by the French General Staff, just as the British dictated the war at sea. What would you suggest that the British, with 13 divisions, only one of which was armoured, could have done?

@TremereTT The actual British treaty with Poland did not promise troops on the ground. The furthest it went was possible air support, and naval support. 'Attacking Germany from the west?' You haven't explained how, with 13 divisions. Moreover, don't you know the actual nature of the planned Anglo-French co-operation, which committed the BEF to supporting Belgium in the even of a German attack, on the Flank of French 1st? At the time, genial Joe was Adolf's best friend, supplying him with a generous quantity of raw materials. Britain allied with the Soviet Union on the basis of 'my enemy's enemy is my friend' and Poland no longer existed.

Very Good. Except of course for the fact that the mines were to be placed in the Rhine at STRASBOURG. Read about Operation Royal Marine before making so ill-informed a comment.
