  3. By your argument, if the Germans had invaded Poland or France politely in 1939 & 1940, neither the Poles nor the French would have had the right to object?

  4.  @somefurryguy1811  Thatcher was Prime Minister at the time. Her army and air force advisors, as well as the vile John Nott, advised against military action, but Sir Henry Leach, First Sea Lord at the time, when asked if retaking the islands was possible, replied "Yes we can recover the islands." He then added "and we must!" Thatcher replied "Why?" Leach responded, "Because if we do not, or if we pussyfoot in our actions and do not achieve complete success, in another few months we shall be living in a different country whose word counts for little." By the way, the Falklands were and are just as much a part of Britain as any British town or city, and just as deserving of protection.

We went to war because an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom was invaded by a country governed by a right wing dictatorship which had a habit of disposing of political opponents by dropping them out of aircraft. At the time the Task Force sailed, those who thought it would succeed were in a minority. Perhaps your obvious hatred of Thatcher has warped your reasoning? I recall from the time how all the left-wing student bodies at my university (Manchester) suddenly became supporters of Argentinian fascists. Very odd!

  10.  @balker8973  In WW2, Germany invaded Poland, and renamed the port of Gdynia as 'Gotenhafen.' When the Germans were expelled from Poland, the port returned to the original name. Exactly the same applies to the Falklands of today. This is not making trouble. This is simply a statement of fact.
