  6. I believe that they had two patrol vessels in 1939, and acquired six MTBs from Thornycroft. I have read that one of the MTBs, M2, even made two unauthorised trips to Dunkirk during the evacuation, with a Thornycroft crew helped by Irish volunteers, but I haven't come across independent confirmation of this.
