Ridley put it in terms of extremist scientists and that he had had a look himself and decided it was probably alright.There speaks a member of the House of Lords. NASA and NOAA are putting out serious warnings as is the IPCC. If we don't change fast our collective goose will be cooked.

  6. I was in Quebec too and as I recall the question of dog walking came up and was allowed near your home. I had a brush with the curfew law and the police were OK. They just sent us home.

  7.  @abe1996  Our cops treat us with respect if we address them politely. They could have caused us inconvenience taken the car and issued a fine, but they hung around and let me arrive to handle the situation. They sent us home with a friendly wave. Serve and protect right? Furthermore, as an autodidact I had some knowledge about virus and epidemics so I had no objection to public health restrictions. In hindsight of course mistakes were made. It was a new virus and we are still watching the bugger evolving and through animal populations. Politicizing the pandemic was a crime against the people of the US. You had 5 times as many deaths as any other country. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Also all these fools walk into their apartments and turn on the light switches and expect the lights to go on. They surf the web and watch tv thanks to satellites and gps systems based on quantum physics. They ignore Emily Noether a brilliant mathematician who contributed to all of these brilliant discoveries.

  12. The problem here is the misapplication of Derrida. Deconstruction is a useful technique to reanalyse historical responses to works of art and literature and expand possibilities. This could be used a tool to deconstruct one's own biases. Unfortunately this has been blended with Foucoult and his insistence on power being the sole and ultimate of all things. Which is nonsense. Foucault seems to think it is ok to assault children so in my mind he is corrupt. Respect for the other goes hand in hand with respect for telling the truth. I am like you, very progressive socially and also strongly supportive of science, biological and hard. Evolutionary psychology seems to be a no brainer! Of course men and women have different interests! None of my girlfriends have ever been able to point out cars on the road and identify them. I am remarkable in that I have learned the brand symbols. I have several male friends who can identify make model year of many many cars. It may be totally true among the trans community that sexuality is fluid. Perhaps we ought not to be surprised by this. But the rest of gay and straight people find that our sexuality is not fluid at all. I am not gay. My pal inToronto knew he was gay when he was six years old. Does he love to drag himself up? Yeah.
