  13. Jeremy Einbinder I understand what you're saying what I'm saying is as much as communism wants a classless society it never turns out that way. The state becomes owner of means of production and the elite will still run things as they do in a capitalist society you're merely exchanging who is on top and who is under heel. Then you're creating a sort of hive mind society where all are part of the collective and individuality is extinguished. By the way a commune in France is not a succesful STATE. Show me a nation or state that as a whole was communist and succesful and where its people had a decent quality of life.

We always want more and no matter how well intentioned a movement there is always a Stalin waiting to grab absolute power. Then the class that helped overthrow and start creation on this new form of governance are eliminated. I wouldn't say there was no capitalism in a feudal society. In fact I consider both to be very similar as the poor and lower are exploited to profit the few. Feudal lords made profit off serfs and Roman elite held slaves. Today WalMart workers have can food drives set up by employees to feed themselves because they are not paid enough. It's a modern Feudal Capitalist society where the 1% are treated as Lords with their own rights and privileges not granted we the common men and women. Communism, a true communist society sounds great. It really does. It will never work. The nature of man would have to be changed before a society like that could exist in reality

  16. Jeremy Einbinder I get that, there does need to be an awakening of consciousness and social order and governance and many other things. It's happened many places at many different times. Just not as you describe and can never work. For it to work all uniqueness and self determination would have to be eradicated at an individual level. All would become drones in the collected common good. Our republic had the right ideas but they didn't extend them to all peoples equally. They also have fallen over to corruption in government and in the market. Both of those are used to keep the common in eternal bondage. Giving the state (any group of leaders elected, appointed or those who gain power by revolution that acts as government)which is so easily corrupted more authority and power will only result in an authoritarian state. I know you said you wanted to completely get rid of that term state. You may substitute tribe, collective, nation etc the result will always be the same. Those on top exploiting those underneath. Then if you wish to empower each individual as his own governor and have no government at all you have anarchy. An ideal society should then, in my view, be a mix of equal parts social and capital. To keep those making money or gaining power in check and to provide for the common welfare of all citizens equally

There are currently 5 nations on earth that identify as communist. What is the standard of living in any of those? When you have complete worker ownership of a business you have to cover those salaries in order for them to remain working and have a relative comfortable standard of living. You then have their goods sold for extremely high prices. Look at some South American nations today

  18. Jeremy Einbinder North Korea isn't communist? They certainly are not a democratic republic. Actually they are the perfect examply of what happens to a communist state. It reinforces my point perfectly and is eventually what happens. Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam... communist. The fact remains that even if the first generation lays the groundwork and sets the ideals for the nation things evolve freely governments do as well. Communist societies set their governing class above the rest. Which is amusing since they claim to want to do away with class structure. Anything that does not benefit the collective is not needed, the people become indoctrinated to work only for the pleasure of those at the top and have no way to break out except for violent overthrow. Communism is a system that calls for violent revolution every few generations then to restore rights to the common people or creates the perfect hive society where the queen is on top and the workers serve. You want to eliminate any top or any class right? Then a new system would have to be created that makes violent revolution unnecessary while protecting the rights and freedoms of every person. As I said our republic had the right ideas they just didn't extend those to everyone and they do not do so today. No protections from the elite were put in to safeguard corruption from happening and we the common people were exploited again. We may not have slaves in chains but we certainly have slaves in debt. Then you have the general mass who accept the way things are and are content as long as they have NFL, Budweiser and the Kardashians. Look at this election. The two most hated politicians ever are the two main choices for president. The elite do not even bother trying to hide their evil anymore. Its on full display 24/7 and the public chooses sides and goes all out against the other while they merely fight over dust on the dinner table of the elite that has fallen on the floor. Not even scraps are tossed to the common. In that regard I suppose you have a point in saying human nature is malleable, easily lead astray. Which is why they need a shephard(s) truly looking out for their best interest with safeguards in place to protect them from themselves and those who would exploit them.

If everyone is equal and provided the same why should 1 work harder than the other? Why even come to work? Why do anything? Are you working for the collective or yourself? It doesn't happen much because the game is rigged towards those in power and already wealthy. They control the capital. They write the laws, they take more than is given back. There is nothing that reins in their control and the people lulled into slumber do nothing to change it. In that regard a revolution is needed but there must be a society that comes after that prevents all the old abuses so as you say all can work in the collective and all can have maximum liberty. I do not think that can be achieved in communism.

See what Russia did to Ukraine or What China has done to its people. Communism removes the "pursuit of happiness" and places "pursue for the state instead". Your system is full of loopholes, contradictions and outright fantasy. Do you have your own opinions that you can express without pulling out your little red book or parroting its lines? Have you actually thought any of it through? Obviously not if you call my suggestions silly things to suppose.

Your whole system in contingent on the facts that you need all citizens to function solely for the state or the collective, to make a surplus of all products and things deemed needed to live in comfort and that technology will always be used to uplift society. You do not take into account any times things can go wrong as your "silly supposes" comment has shown or the nature of human beings. As I've said in theory it may sound like a great idea, in practice communism never works.

  25. Fred Hampton's Ghost wealth is created because people have the freedom to create. Then people have the freedom to decide what a product is worth. If the state tells you what you will buy and tells you what you will do for work then that narrows things quite a bit. If that happens forget anything deemed un-necessary such as art. Forget having choice. You will be once again in a class. So all the things communism says it can cure in fact does not.

  45. Jeremy Einbinder So take walmart for example or costco. Under your plan a checkout clerk is equal owner to someone who works in administrative office position. Would that be correct? Why would anyone choose to stock shelves over sitting in a chair? The problem arises when someone isn't fit to do a task but nevertheless deems they should have that task. Why would anyone willingly pick the crap job? Some people are meant to lead some to follow. My vision of democratic socialism doesn't do away with class but does take from those wealthy enough to fund social programs for individuals elderly, infirmed and children.

  46. MonkeyMoney101 but you could choose to come home from work and play for a bigger audience and then charge for the time you play for those in attendance. Or you could choose to play for free and not charge that is your choice. If there was a society where those with music inclinations could focus on that and play and that be all they did, why would anyone want to do the hard work that needed to be done? What if someone really wants to rock out but they are horrible at playing and singing? Yet they have direct say in their own lives and cannot be bothered with that detail that they suck?

  49. Jeremy Einbinder yes it does need to be done but say for example i have a neighbor who's fence has fallen on mine. For two days i tell him to fix it or my fence will fall. He would rather get drunk and then my fence falls over leaving me to fix it. Human nature is not taken into account in your ideals. Most people i come across could care less about the common good those are the people that would make your society not function as it should. How do you deal with them?
