  16. I was not aware of the Paris peace agreement between the USSR and Finland from 1947. Finland cannot join or participate in any alliance without a UN Security Council vote. If Finland violates this treaty and becomes a part of NATO that means the situation may return to a state of war with Russia as the main successor of the Soviet Union. I do not see a war developing because unless NATO bases weapons in Finland that threaten Russia. Russia has said this as well and warned NATO about basing weapons in Finland that are a direct threat.
