  1. I don't know about "no matter the cost." I absolutely think we need to decouple from what is obviously now a hostile economic and ideological adversary. But to do it too drastically and too quickly could hurt as just as much as it hurts them. You don't turn manufacturing on a dime. We've been asleep at the wheel and should have started this process a decade ago. But here we are.

  2. They can certainly do that in the short-term. But no amount of financial sleight-of-hand makes that a sound long-term policy for them. And they've already been doing it so much, for so long, that the effects are becoming evident, if not terminal.
