@juliegwilliam8503 1. Stop shouting. 2. Vote share doesn’t equal third place, seat share does.

Welcome to every change of government ever.
2
Doubted you complained when Johnson won his 80 seat majority despite a clear majority voting for other parties.
2
@juliegwilliam8503 People don’t take shouty folk seriously, more often than not just walk in the opposite direction.
2
Reform did worse than Sunack’s conservatives.

@Professor-Scientist Slightly low turn out and multi way split
1
@sheffieldzamo7444 No such thing as a super majority in our system. People are reading way too much into the result. Turnout was low, pretty much everyone knew the outcome was a forgone conclusion. There was a high degree of tactical voting to unseat Tory candidates. The only voters that really turned out in their droves were those who favoured Reform and Greens as their first choice. I support changes to the electoral system, moving to a ranked choice system which preserves individual constituency MPs, but certainly not a party list PR system. However FPTP will remain at-least until we have another coalition government.

@davyroberts6019 Another fantasist

@alanrobertson9790 Oh the irony!

@Woke_Invaders It demonstrates special pleading
1
@Woke_Invaders If we had an alternative electoral system you wouldn’t have had the EU referendum or Johnson.
1
@Woke_Invaders It demonstrates special pleading as people moaning about the electoral system now didn’t when it suited them.

@TheArtofTheBrave If Reform wants to have more candidates elected it needs to: 1. Select better candidates. 2. Improve its public image. 3. Cease being a Farage fan club. 4. Develop a platform that’s deliverable (the moon on a stick, which it’s currently promising isn’t convincing). 5. Concentrate on increasing vote share in individual constituencies. 6. Appeal to the middle ground. However I have little faith it can do any of the above. At the moment it’s only broadly appealing to the hard right and the left behind.

They liked the other less

Just slightly over 1/5 people voted for Brexit, does that make it illegitimate in your opinion?
1
Unlikely

Change the record
1
@johnrussell3961 Keep dreaming, even if that does happen, it’ll split the Conservative Party.
1
Welcome to multiple parties on right, the left has had multiple way splits for the best part of a century.
1
Good governance and politics is boring
1
As for Farage being PM, keep dreaming.
1
Turn out was a low and the vote split multiple ways.
1
Starmer’s wife and kids are of that Semitic faith 🤦🏻♂️
1
By your logic the leave vote was illegitimate as only 75%~ of the British people voted for it.
1
@roninhood1027 It’s 5% more, and that’s called special pleading.
1
@roninhood1027 I mistyped in my initial response 75% did not vote for Brexit, only 25%~ did!
1
Fact is they liked Farage less than Sunak.
1
We’ve had enough of entertaining politics
1
Who do you think will win in 2029?
