Comments by "John Holst" (@johnholst) on "Korea is disappearing except Seoul... Korea, in the crisis of local extinction | Undercover Korea" video.
This video paints a very distorted view of life in Korea. If you live in any of the major cities, you have access to great shopping, healthcare, employment and entertainment. I've been here for a very long time and life is good! I'm never moving back to Canada.

Not true. There are good hospitals in all major cities in Korea. It has on of the best health care systems in the world. But yes, the best ones are in Seoul.

All large cities in Korea have some good hospitals. But the best ones are certainly in Seoul. Not unlike other countries though.

You clearly don't know anything about Korea. I left Canada to live in Korea because life here is far better. And I can tell you, I have no regrets!

Large cities in Korea have access to all major services. You just have to understand that Koreans want things from Seoul. They don't need things from Seoul.

Because Koreans don't like to pay rent. The concept hasn't been around that long here. And real estate is just a big scam in Canada.

@adofoi30 Canada has about 40 million people. Metro Seoul only has about 25 million. But yes, a larger concentration of people for Korea than Canada.

You could afford it. But you'd have to adjust your views of what your "home" should be.

What a load of crap. The standard of living in Korea has MUCH less of a gap than China.
1
@jeacarn8955 Because Seoul is by far the most prominent city in Korea.

@jeacarn8955 Nothing you said is true. I've lived here for more than 20 years. You have no idea what you're talking about.
1
@jeacarn8955 In fact I have been. And I can tell you that nowhere in Korea do you ever feel like you're in a third world country. Can't say that about China.

@jeacarn8955 I was not referring to the size of their respective GDPs. I was simply refuting your ridiculous notion that the gap between top and bottom in Korea is greater than in China. It is not. And it's not even close. This is, in part, evidenced by the fact that Korea has a per capita GDP more than 10 times greater than China. Siwtzerland has a small population as well. Do you imagine China has a higher quality of life than they have as well? Lol. You're right in saying the Chinese economy has a much higher ceiling than Korea. But that hasn't translated to a high standard of living for most Chinese people, unfortunately. Perhaps someday it will. But for now, there's no comparison. Korea is a far better place to live.

There's plenty to Korea besides Seoul. I've been everywhere here and it's really a wonderful country.
