  1. "It just doesn't make sense!!" Duh!!! It makes perfect sense. There are about 1.4 million empty homes in Canada right now. Who do you think owns them? Corporations and wealthy Canadians who don't have to pay taxes on those empty homes. So, of course, they can charge whatever they want and people have to pay even if it's way overpriced and they can't afford it. As long as this system is allowed to continue, it doesn't matter how many homes they build. The problem will continue to get worse.
