Dante007...You won't get it that cheap. But you'll get a great deal to be sure. And it'll still have warranty!
13
Kevin...Right! You'd actually save a small fortune just in service costs.
11
@carguyeyedoc As long as u don't care what others think, you're gonna love this car.
10
If this had a three pointed star on it, you would say it's beautiful.
7
Ellipsis....Actually, you're right, in that that is their intention for the US market. It's just to show what Kia can do. But overseas, this car sells VERY well, and that's why it was redesigned.
5
@skyforce2132 The K9 (what we call it here in Korea) is an awesome car! Not quite as good as the S Class. But it is half the price. You could actually buy the K9, a fully loaded Sorento, and a new Kia Soul for the price of the S Class. Kias for the whole family!
5
@dexterpoole1625 That is a fact. You can check any manufacturers site and see that no brand, and certainly no luxury brand equals the Kia warranty.
4
@GodSejeong Hong Se Jung...not the same category of car bro! But, I also love the G70! Perfect car for me!
2
Young Cha...Kia is my favorite Korean brand too! I love the K9!
2
@TV-gz1ci Stinger is my favorite Kia. But as you know, gas is very expensive here in Korea. But I still want to buy one!
2
Mike...Because of the very low turnover rate in the US, they want inventory to be streamlined. Here in Korea, and other markets, we get the V8 and rwd options. Blame American consumers, I guess.
2
@mikey_n_vegas Honestly speaking Mike, to the rest of the world, it seems that the United States doesn't care much about saving fuel. We pay 8 bucks a gallon here in Korea. Fuel can cost more than your car payment. The US is a unique market.
2
richard...Doug is wrong. This is the TTV6 from the Stinger. makes 365hp/376ft.lbs
2
legopieface....It really does! When you get in it, it feels really nice too.
2
@MrBooster999 I agree with you! IMO, Benz makes the best cars in their competitive classes. But the K9 is way more premium than the new C and on par (at least) with the E. Don't forget, this Kia is sized like the SWB models the 7 Series, S Class, and A8. You should judge it accordingly.
2
SQ....Agreed. That is the only thing wrong with this car. In Australia, they call it Quoris. Should have stuck with that.
2
@carguyeyedoc You're right! Surprised someone hasn't already.
2
@wetamup2009 That's right. Have you been to Korea? I've been living here for almost 20 years. :)
2
Delta....The price is not the same at all, and that's the point. You're getting 90 percent of the car for less than 50 percent of the price.
1
Allert...Right?! The base S Class does 0-60 in 6.8 seconds.
1
Paul Murphy...I love the wheel! Interesting that Doug didn't know that the only piece of fake wood in the car is that part on the wheel.
1
@GodSejeong I wish they would develop a new diesel engine for their cars. But, as you know, the government here in Korea is trying to discourage diesels. Still, the gas models for the G70 are great!
1
Ryukachoo...Not a chance. But it'll be a good value then, for sure.
1
Nickyt...We still get the V8 option here in Korea for this car.
1
David Clark..yes, you can have a German car instead. But at this price, it will only be half the car this Kia is.
1
Justin Xu...Toyota doesn't make anything even remotely close to this car in terms of quality or features. The LS is a fair contest though!
1
Jerome...It does look great. Been on sale here in Korea for a few months now. Looks bolder and has more interior color options.
1
Andy...that's hilarious! Better to go to a Benz dealer and say, " I don't want to pay that much for Benz".
1
@richardbutton1261 I agree. We get the V8 here in Korea, and also the RWD option. But just one combo for the US. Sorry!
1
Duna...Sadly, they don't offer that V8 in the US. Just the TTV6.
1
schnibbyy...Actually, I can't imagine anyone OVER 50 choosing this over German. Old people are stuck in their ways and thinking. Young people are somewhat more concerned with value and sensibility. This car provides a tremendous value.
1
Dimes....this is way nicer than the Volvo. Also a much better driving car.
1
Alex Y....I hear what you're saying, and I agree that if the E Benz and this were the same price, most people would take the E Benz. But they aren't the same price. An E Benz at 65K isn't nearly as well equipped as this Kia. Or as nice and big on the inside, to be honest. And of course, the Kia will be much cheaper to run and be more reliable. It's really a matter of badge vs value.
1
Eric...I'm just used to it now. Here in Korea, we have the K3, K5, K7, and K9 representing the Forte, Optima, Cadenza and K900 respectively.
1
Chad...you should come out of your cave once in a while and see what's going on in today's automotive landscape. Kia is awesome!!
1
@slimshadow49 Rather explode in a Kia than be burned alive in a BMW. :)
1
@slimshadow49 Glad there are no more Pintos! But, you're right. Kia had a problem, and they made the appropriate recall. Honda also had to recall their popular CR-V. Doesn't mean the car is bad.
1
It's shocking that Doug didn't know anything about this car!! The engine is not 311hp. It's a twin turbo 365hp, as it's right out of the Stinger/Genesis. You might have noted that it has adaptive suspension, and that in sport mode, it feels very much like the old swb BMW 7 Series. Not surprising since it was tuned by Albert Biermann. This is a gorgeous car and Doug didn't give it the credit it deserves.
1
Craig...Would have been unthinkable a few years ago. Times are changing man! Show me a more luxurious car than this for 65K.
1
@bobvila2973 Actually there is. It's the small toggle switch on the left side of the wheel. All Kias have this setup.
1
@jonathanmoga5188 It's way better than the C Class. Better perhaps than the E Class. S Class? No. But then again, a BMW and Audi is also not as good.
1
I///M....Yes, base price, right? Much less car than this Kia.
1
@Christian-fg3we But like I said, at the same price, you're not getting much BMW. Not everyone needs a badge on their car to feel good about themselves.
1
@Christian-fg3we Adding options to the 5 Series will still get you far less power, amenities, and space than the K9 for 65K. To get a comparably equipped 5 Series costs 82K and it is still smaller. The Kia is just a terrific value.
1
Dai...that's true for ALL luxury cars. The Germans are the top depreciating cars in the world.
