What a lovely, caring young woman Alex is. If more young people were like her, the world's future would be in safe hands! That little mouse is precious! Look at her perfect little face, she's beautiful. It hurts my heart how people demonise and persecute these sweet creatures. Glue traps are utterly barbaric and should be banned, as are old fashioned mouse traps,
Ironically, the advert that preceded this particularvideo was for an horrific modern mouse trap the size of a refuse bin, that tempts the mouse up a gangplank, then tricks it into falling into the bin. The advert had it set up in a barn, where it claimed it caught 15 mice, one after the other. I fear the owner doesn't release these live mice but does something unspeakable to them - I found the advert very disturbing.
But sweet Greta's story, and her loving Mom who so cleverly found her baby a human Mom to adopt and care for her before she died, touched my heart. Animals love their babies too, the mother-baby bond is not exclusively human! And baby mice have exactly the same basic needs our babies do, for warmth, milk, a safe, darkened bed to sleep in, and LOVE.
Bravo Alex for nurturing little Greta as her poor Mom wanted to do, but tragically could not. You did her Mom proud! XXX

Wilma is so adorable! It's wonderful to see how deeply loved and appreciated she is by her humans - as all pets should be. She's clearly a momma's girl, and closely attuned to her mom's moods in particular. Dogs have such powerful empathy for the humans they love. This family has adapted brilliantly to Wilma's sight and hearing issues, so she has followed suit and taken it in her stride.
I lost my beloved little dog Dolly to cancer, almost 4 years ago. I still cry when I think of her, and still tell her I love her, in hopes that somewhere, somehow, she senses it. I will always love and miss her. This lady has an awful bereavement ahead, when she loses sweet Wilma. I hope that won't be for a very long time.
We make a deal with the devil when we take on an animal, knowing that sad day of parting will come. And it always comes far too soon. You can't prepare yourself for such a loss. You just have to go through it, and accept that your grief and heartbreak are the price owing, for all the love and laughter they gave you. Is it a price worth paying? Hell yes!
May this lucky family enjoy many more happy times with their precious girl Wilma. β₯πβ€πβ€πβ€

Β @jeanhealy3132Β Totally right! The fact the failed adopters were not willing to invest even a modest amount of time in that poor bird (whose difficult life history they knew all about), shows just how shallow, selfish and demanding they are. And totally unsuited to meeting the needs of ANY vulnerable rescue animal!
Any sentient creature who suffered (as this poor bird suffered, for a very long time,) will likely find moving into a new home challenging. Who can blame him, he has been to hell and back! Why didn't they grasp that fact, and step up to help him? I am astonished they weren't willing to provide the emotional support he so clearly needed, not even for just one week, to ease that transition for him. They returned the poor boy to the shelter after mere days! Unbelievable. Apparently he wasn't behaving like the perfect pet - how ridiculous, and how horribly, coldly selfish of them! Shame on those people. It's a great shame they apparently can't be named and shamed.
Had the poor Cockatoo only gone to loving, empathetic people, there's no question he'd have been given the gentle love, acceptance, time and space to settle down that he needed, and he would soon have bonded with his new surroundings, and new carers.
Whoever the people are who rejected him, they should be placed on an official blacklist of would-be animal adopters/carers who are totally unsuited to such a role. Such individuals only want 'perfect' pets, who behave on their own, narrow terms - they clearly aren't remotely interested in supporting and nurturing these traumatised souls. And that isn't what animal rescue is about - it isn't a cut price pet shop!
Such people must be booted out of the animal rescue system. If such a blacklist existed, they would be found out immediately they walked into any rescue or shelter seeking a pet. Sub-humans like this only want animal companions for their own benefit. And that is simply unacceptable!

Oh wow, who could possibly resist that affectionate, furry bundle? He must give the softest, loveliest hugs! So glad Axel found the perfect forever family to love and take good care of him.
I really respect this lady for being kind about his previous owners. As they rightly said, the fact he's so chilled and loving, shows he was very loved by them. They just struggled to say no to him I guess, and overfed him. It's sad, but they meant no harm. He's now landed in a wonderful home where he'll get the help he needs to gently slim down, and be the healthy, agile cat nature intended
They are doing fantastically well with his weight loss, 10lbs down already - almost a quarter of his original weight gone! He must be feeling so much better and lighter on his paws.
