@Justthollyy If she had male company the night before then he clearly did not leave her apartment with her, because he would have saved her from her abductor. Unless he WAS the abductor - but that doesn't really make sense if she was in a romantic relationship with him.
Two used, unwashed wine glasses and two empty cans of beer were found in her kitchen, which again points to her having a male visitor. Back in 1995 DNA testing was not as widespread - I wonder if forensic testing was done on those items for saliva and fingerprints?
It's recently emerged into the public domain, that around 10 days before she disappeared, Jodi had met a new man she was crazy about. They'd been on many dates - dinner, golfing etc. The man is known to police but not a suspect, which is why he's never been identified.
I believe that new boyfriend provides the motive for Josie's kidnap and murder by John Vansice, the friend 20 years older than Jodie who was clearly obsessed with her. He may have discovered Jodi had a boyfriend, or maybe she told him to make it clear she was not interested in him. Either way, it's a very strong motive for murder by an obsessive, possessive man.

Very easily - women are overpowered and killed by lone men all the time, in fact is is very unusual for two men to be involved in a woman's murder. Jodie was petite and weighed no more than 120lbs, and the evidence points to her behind thrown into a van, not a car.
Witnesses saw a white van in the parking lot outside her home and heard the sound of a vehicle door slamming twice.
This abductor/killer obviously came prepared. He grabbed unsuspecting Jodie from behind as she was putting the key in her car door. She screamed - he may then have held a chloroform soaked cloth to her face to knock her out, or may literally have knocked her out with a choke hold around her neck. The two slamming doors were her being put into the back of the van, then the abductor getting into the driving seat and speeding off.
Statistically Jodi was far more likely killed by a man she knew, than by a stranger/stalker. I believe her killer was John Vansice, a friend 20 years older who was obsessed with her. Bizarrely he had organised and paid for a big 27th birthday party for her a few weeks before her death - she wasn't his girlfriend or even a work colleague, so it was inappropriate.
Jodie didn't return Vansice's romantic feelings, and when he learned she had met a man she was keen on (10 days before she disappeared), he was enraged and plotted her kidnap and murder. The motive was jealousy by a spurned man who felt 'If I can't have her, no one else will'.
