Next time it could be a gun or a knife, and Bo won't come out alive. Is it fair to expose an animal to society's most dangerous, ruthless and frequently armed individuals? I don't think so - the dog has no idea about the risks, and no choice.

@MsPearlFromThe5thFloor So he wasn't his biological father, so what? It changes nothing as regards this murder of an entire family. They were brutally killed by the only man close to them, with a motive and a criminal record - Chase Merritt. Over mere money. Those four lives were priceless. Merritt will fight justice with an appeal - an extreme sociopath like him has no conscience whatsoever and loves only himself. RIP the McStay family - it is hard to imagine a more horrific thing than being murdered - they suffered it, being murdered after seeing the people you love murdered. It really doesn't get any worse than that.

No question he did it - if you have any perception at all regarding body language, just view the interview he gave to a TV news station a couple of years ago. His guilt is crystal clear. And if you can't see it after that - be very, very careful in choosing your friends!

@lynnhexler-haan3357 What a shocking betrayal of those noble dogs, trained to give their lives in military service, then abandoned to the mean streets - and they don't get any meaner than Afghanistan. Leave military equipment behind if you have to, but dogs are intelligent, feeling creatures more loyal to humans than humans themselves. They deserved better than that devastating abandonment!

@meowhisspurrrscratch6961 Wtf do women's abortion rights have to do with service dogs? Women's bodies are none of your damn business.

@trueaussie9230 Expressing concern for the military dogs does not preclude feeling concern for humans too. It is possible to care about more than one group of victims simultaneously!

Beautiful, brave dog who is trained to do a dangerous job, not understanding the risks involved and having no choice in the matter. This guy only had an umbrella. But in America, the next guy could well have a gun, and knives are pretty popular among criminals too. That beautiful animal could easily meet the wrong man and die some day. Is it really fair to expose an animal to the very worst of humanity like this, day in day out? I say no. I pray Bo survives his dangerous career and gets to retire someday and be a full-time lap dog.
