Wow Skippy won't leave you alone will she Jim, God bless her - do you think she's eating so much because she's nursing babies? I love how she practically climbs on your lap and puts her little paws on your knees to get her treat - anyone watching would think she had known you for years! She's amazingly tame and trusting - not like a wild animal at all, you definitely have a magic touch with them. I do hope Rascal turns up soon, we must all sit tight and pray, there's nothing else we can do. She's in my prayers, sending you love & hugs. X

Isn't it amazing that people around the world are worried about Rascal and praying she'll turn up soon - she's famous thanks to Jim's videos and she doesn't even know it! I guess we must be philosophical JLN, she has had an amazingly long life, 13 for a raccoon is unheard of. And thanks to Jim's love and care, a happy life too - she always had the security of knowing she could go to Jim for help if she was hungry or ill, that's a great blessing most wild animals don't have. Inevitably the day will come when she doesn't turn up and that will mean she has died. Hopefully she will go to her forever sleep in a warm burrow with a full tummy and happy memories. And there are many wonderful videos and photos of her - plus all her descendants - to remember her by. We'll just have to sit tight and wait and see. Sending you and all my fellow animal lovers a big hug - have a great week! X

Oh thank goodness! My prayers (and all of our prayers) were answered. Rascal lives to eat hot dogs and marshmallows another day! That's wonderful news, you made my day - thanks for the update Jim! X

HURRAH! I am SO relieved, thanks so much for letting everyone know Jim - I'm sure many fans have been getting worried. How is the sore on her back - do you think it's healing well?

Oh that's fantastic - no doubt she healed well thanks to her hearty food intake at Jim's Cafe - well done! I must say it's made my day to know Rascal is OK and visiting you again. X

How funny, I love to think I have raccoon whispering powers - but like you, they'd be utterly useless here in the UK! Ah well, my dog will just have to reap the benefits, she loves her grub too!

I think that's quite likely Lucia, aren't all elderly animals susceptible to the dreaded arthritis? It is nothing short of miraculous that Jim has got Rascal to the ripe old age of 13 but of course the inevitable could happen at any time. When it does he can be very proud of the long and happy life he gave her, free of the fear of starvation and always knowing he would help her in times of need - as indeed he did. With his love and care I am sure Skippy and the rest will all live far longer than a typical wild raccoon.
