  1. I hope Rascal's OK Jim you must be a little worried not to have seen her for a few nights. How was that wound on her back - I'm sure you've been keeping an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected and need antibiotics. God love her - like others here, I feel Skippy could well be related to Rascal, she has so many of Rascal's lovely traits like her gentleness and trust in you, and the way she stands up on her hind legs. She's adorable! When the day comes from Rascal to meet her maker, she will live on through descendants like gorgeous Skippy. And they continue to thrive thanks to your love and care! You make a huge difference to the quality of life of these animals. Thanks for sharing these videos with us Jim, they are such a treat to watch!

  2. Thanks for the reply Jim - it's 3.30pm here in the UK I wasn't sure what time it was with you! I agree absolutely - Rascal has had a wonderful life due in no small part to you and all the love and support you have given her. You have been a lovely constant for her - unlike most wild animals, she has always known she could come to you in times of trouble for food, medical help or anything, and you would be there. You cannot overestimate the positive effect that had on her quality of life and I am sure it explains her great age. She did not have the stress on her of a normal raccoon that entirely fends for itself. She has always enjoyed the best of all worlds - her freedom to live a full life and make her own choices, and the comfort of your love and practical support (all that yummy food and cake she has enjoyed, God bless her I'm sure the memory of it brought her out of her burrow for a slap-up feed many a time!) We all have our time and when Rascal's time comes you can feel very proud of the role you played in her long and happy life! I always chuckle to think that Rascal is famous and loved by people around the world thanks to your YouTube channel, and yet she has absolutely no idea about it! Animals are great levellers, they teach us what really matters in this life. Thank you for sharing her with us. X
