It's hard to understand, because money was the least of Peter Falk's assets - he was a lovable, talented, charismatic man, and would have been even if he had never become famous. For a decent woman, those qualities alone would be enough! That it appears she married him primarily because of what he could offer in terms of money and status is tragic. He deserved better than that - true love. But sadly, wealthy men often choose unwisely. The late great British movie actor David Niven married a beautiful woman called Primmie, who adored him, and gave him two lovely sons. But Primmie died in a freak accident, falling downstairs in the dark at a friends house during a game of hide-and-seek. David Niven was heartbroken at her loss, but he re-married quickly - a beautiful but ruthless Swedish model who was cruel to his motherless children and latterly, when he was an old man and dying, cruel to him too. Men can be too easily swayed by a woman's looks, when they should be looking into her heart!
