Trump needs to not. The only way anyone will rally behind Biden at this point is in defense against Trump. Anyone else gets the Republican ticket and many Dems won't even bother to mail in their ballots. A lot of the people who did vote for Biden didn't actually want him. They just wanted Trump a LOT less.
