@rcg9573 You spend your time seeking out positive comments on the Internet, so you can attempt to make people feel bad about caring for others. The fact that you end your comment by calling them a loser is some of the most delicious irony I've seen in quite a while. Thank you for that.

@glennrobinson3442 Why exactly would God choose to attack the Bible belt? If your theory is correct, then God is punishing areas with the highest concentrations of Christians. What sense does that make, exactly? I mean, unless you're talking about God from a Muslim perspective. I could see how an extremist of Islam would think this is God's doing but even then, it would have to be an extremist.

I'm pretty sure similar has been said about every record and near-record weather event, that has ever happened in human history.

@burrito255 The government doesn't build private homes. Contractors build private homes. Now, if you're saying that building codes in these areas should be changed to make homes able to withstand hurricanes then A) That's up to the State governments, not Federal and B) Nobody living in these relatively poor States would then be able to afford to buy a home. That kind of construction is incredibly expensive. A one bed, one bath, 900 sq/ft home would cost over half a million dollars to build. Virtually nobody in Kentucky could afford that. Meanwhile, the vast majority don't need a house built to that spec. Tornadoes in Kentucky almost never do this kind of damage. This is a freak storm event. Do you really want everyone in Kentucky to be homeless during the next storm because they can't afford your spiffy, new houses? No thanks. That's what storm cellars and insurance are for. I'll take my chances underground and worry about rebuilding after.
