As someone who works outdoors all winter, I pretty much have those symptoms for three to four months straight, every year. Cold air gives me a runny nose. Post-nasal drip gives me a cough and a sore throat. Being out in the cold all day and then coming inside gives me a mild temperature (my body compensates for the cold and then I'm overly warm all evening) and often, a bit of a headache. Doing physical labor gives me body aches and fatigue. I think I'm just going to change my middle name to Omicron and call it good.

@xbrito3368 Personally, I'm happy to believe a doctor who reports positive and negative information over a doctor who is obviously neglecting to report anything positive. I also like it when a doctor not only gives their opinion on what actions should be taken but also gives a good explanation as to why they feel that is the right course. I prefer more data and less spin. I'm weird like that. "Appeal to authority" is a logical fallacy. I don't believe anyone based solely on title. If you have facts, present them and I'll have a look. S/He who shows me the most complete and verifiable data set tends to hold my attention. Talking heads with MD next to their name, who give a summary of their interpretation of data and then make bold claims about what should be done? They tend to get shuffled to the bottom of my dance card.

I'd say that's what we're all banking on. It's pretty much the same idea behind the boosters. The idea is to get something into your system that will increase immunity in the short term, so that we're better protected against worse variants. Given the givens of what's happening in South Africa, I'd say that's exactly what's happening. Everyone is getting hit with Omicron, beating it, getting an immunity boost and smothering Delta.

I men, it makes perfect sense. It would have been really hard for South Africa to have had the infection rate it did, if Omicron wasn't reinfecting people who had other variants previously.

@ellobetchess 1. Low risk is not nonexistent. 2. I've had IVs before, so I don't mind a needle being in my arm a little longer. Not sure how they're going to miss the correct dosage if they start out with the right dosage in the needle (not that one less microgram is going to make that much of a difference anyway). 3. I'm not a cow and it isn't a slaughterhouse. If it takes an extra minute to make absolutely sure that it's done right, so be it. First, do no harm. If I want to play fast and loose with injections, I'll become a drug addict.

@nonyab5640 Just get tested? You mean, every, single day for 3-4 months? That's about what it would take to be sure. Again, I have these symptoms all Winter long. The local facilities won't allow me to test anywhere near that frequently and there's no way I'm spending that kind of money on home tests (I have bills to pay and a family to feed). Even every few days is too much. Maybe if there was something to fear from it but there really isn't.

Yeah, I think I'll go ahead and "boost" using Omicron when it hits my area. I already have sniffles, sore throat, mild cough, etc all Winter, from working outside. I'm really sorry your government is giving you no choice in the matter.

You protect grandma by staying away from grandma. Teach her how to video chat, drop her care packages at the front door, and stay away. If grandma is vaccinated and otherwise healthy for her age, she'll probably be okay but don't be the one to give her COVID. You'll feel really guilty if you do.

@ldoe8731 Been there! My uncle had a dairy farm where I spent a lot of time working in my teens. Fulfilling work but I'm glad to be doing construction, instead. Hat's off to you!

@LTPottenger I appreciate the advice but it's not so much nasal infections as it is that my nose runs when it's cold. I would shoot myaelf if I had to deal with nasal infrctions all Winter. One a year is bad enough.

Investigative Audit That's quite the bold set of claims. Surely you have some evidence to back them up, right? And no, I'm not talking about him being a nurse with a PhD. Most folks already know about that one. I would be interested in seeing the evidence of Pfizer/HHS payoffs, majority paid activist commentators, pre-written video contents by Pfizer/HHS, etc. If you can back up your claims, I'll stop watching this channel today.
