  1. It's weird that you got "hit with reality" all at once. Most people are introduced to things slowly, over time, throughout their childhood - as they become more and more mature, and capable of comprehending things. That is the point. Children don't grow up well adjusted by having mature and complex issues (typically referred to as adult issues) just dropped in their laps. Kids have 18 years to become adults. Forcing it on them early just deprives them of their childhood. I appreciate that my parents didn't take me to burlesque shows when I was a kid. I actually got to be a kid.

  3. I believe the court is saying that the performers have a first amendment right (free expression) to perform. Personally, I don't see why age limits are a problem, though.
