@riderdie1603 It really wasn't that long ago that your buddies would have laughed at you for paying anywhere near MSRP. Dealers absolutely loved anyone who would see the sticker price and assume that's roughly what they would actually pay, because it was very rare. Car deals were often done based on X% over invoice, not $X over/under MSRP. We're being screwed.

Of course not. This is holiday pricing, nothing more. The dealers are trying to convince people who are thinking about buying their spouse or kid a car for Christmas, to choose their dealership. It has been going on for as long as car dealerships have existed. That's a big reason the trucks don't have discount stickers on them. Most of the time, Christmas cars are bought by men for their wives or by both parents for their kids. Most of the time, this is the slowest sales period of the year for truck sales.

@riderdie1603 That's because we didn't call them deals. It was just how business was done. I was a vehicle salesperson for many years. Trust me, Toyota dealers were no different than the rest.
