So, the idea is to ban what is largely considered a novelty accessory because a person used one once in a shooting? Really? This is the priority? So, when you ban them and the next guy slips his finger into his belt loop and accomplishes the same thing, are you going to ban pants? I'm pretty sure more people have been killed by angry housewives with cast iron skillets than by rifles with bump stocks on them. Best do away with cookware for the sake of public safety...

@MegaWeitzel You think nobody in Europe is vaping? Then I'm guessing you've never been there. The EU has established very specific rules for the sale of e-liquid and e-cigarettes/mods because of the major impact vaping has had. The Royal College of Physicians has officially endorsed vaping as a safer alternative/cessation method for smoking tobacco. Vaping has hit Europe in a big way. They just don't demonize it the way certain groups in the US have.

@MegaWeitzel "This is a big problem." You and I have very different views on what constitutes a big problem. The millions of kids who consume massive amounts of sugar are in much more danger than the ones who vape. Diabetes, obesity, heart conditions, etc are all linked to sugar consumption...yet there's candy available everywhere and to anyone with a few cents to their name. Meanwhile, they put age restrictions on vaping which - as far as anyone can prove - only seems to increase blood pressure at similar rates to caffeine (another substance with no age restrictions that's available everywhere). The US has plenty of big problems. Teens choosing to vape instead of smoking is not on that list.

Ragu inacan "Religion" isn't the reason for this problem. A specific religion's specific custom is the problem. The US not allowing prayer time in schools is not what prevents this from happening here. The fact that the primary religion in the US - which has had major influences in the government - doesn't require people to throw dead bodies in a river, is the main factor. Also, having an EPA to keep municipalities and corporations from dumping raw sewage and untreated industrial waste into our waterways tends to help a lot. India doesn't put health or the environment ahead of anything. That is why this is happening. The US has plenty of room to do better but it's not because of "religion." It's mostly because of corporate and political greed.

This woman is a college professor. Let that sink in. She's not smart enough to realize how ridiculous her lifestyle is, yet she's allowed to influence young adults. If you make $100k/year and are forcing your child to live in a 1 bedroom apartment because of your irrational attachment to a particular city, you shouldn't be paid to spread your point of view to others.

He chose to stay and wander the streets, instead of looking for a way to get back on his feet. Yeah, that's called a lazy idiot. He even dares to scream about there being no housing. @1988kcmo The number of agencies reporting hate crimes is also up. Of course the number of reported cases is going to increase when you have more agencies reporting their numbers. If, for example, 100 agencies report their hate crimes to the FBI annually for ten years and then on the eleventh year, 20 more agencies start reporting, the number is going to increase drastically. Anyone who doesn't take the increase in agencies into account will think that something happened in the eleventh year to make people more hateful, when really, it's mostly just that we're getting more information than in previous years.

Srbistanik 01 However, even if you're struggling in California, you're still better off than you'd be struggling in many other places in the world. In some of the better parts of Cali, the homeless "struggle" with very nice climates and tons of leftover food being handed to them, that comes from some of the best restaurants in the Country. That's that California privilege.

Typical city kid. My family of four is doing quite well on $54,000/year here in California. My wife and I were simply smart enough to stay away from the money pits, like LA and San Francisco. I own an 1850sq/ft, 4 bedroom home and two cars. I'll grant you that it's hard to live comfortably in an urban shit-hole for that much but then, who in their right mind would want to live in one, anyway?

I agree, the system really sucks. That's why, when I became a father, I made the conscious decision to not do anything that would cause my children to end up in the system. It really takes a selfish person to jeopardize their child like that.

@arthurmorgan3260 I get that. I just don't see what a "better" law would be that would effectively (and drastically) reduce gun crime and also preserve the rights of the people. Personally, I'd like to see better enforcement of current laws. Why would I expect new, "better" laws to be anything more than an inconvenience for myself and other gun owners when that's all the current laws are? I obey all firearms laws but if I didn't I would be able to get my hands on plenty of guns and I don't even live in a large city (where the majority of such problems exist). I'm in California, where even private firearms sales are supposed to go through an FFL and require a background check. Do you have any idea how few of them actually do? The laws in this State only affect those who have no intention of breaking them. Everyone else is still buying and selling "banned" guns to/from each other, as though the laws never existed in the first place. I can't even say I think they're wrong for doing so. The Constitution - as it is written - is very clear. So is the definition of the word "infringe." People can try to talk about altering the Constitution to limit the freedoms of Americans but that didn't go so well last time. The People refused to comply and that particular amendment had to be repealed. If you think prohibition was a bad time, imagine trying it with something that has been specifically enumerated as a natural right of the People. All that badness was just over booze. What we're talking about now is the real stuff. People will sacrifice their lives, en masse, to protect the second amendment. It would be a bloody war on American soil, with only American casualties. Laws can change with the times but trying to reduce people's rights will end in blood. Especially when we're talking about the one right that's meant to protect all of the others. Welcome to the paradox.

@xXG2023 If you're going to claim there are things like bleach in eliquid, I'm going to need a source link. There's no way anyone should take your word for something so outlandish. Propylene glycol on the other hand, IS found in eliquid. It's also found in dozens of foods and in some hospital ventilation systems (to help protect you from airborne pathogens). It is considered inert. My source for knowing that there's propylene glycol in eliquid is every, single vaping website, vaping YouTube channel, the FDA, the ACS, the RCP...and the label of every bottle of eliquid I ever bought. I'll be waiting for your source. Furthermore, the American Cancer Society, the FDA and the Royal College of Physicians all say that the chemicals in eliquid are MUCH safer than those found in cigarettes. I could listen to experts with doctorates, who studied these chemicals in labs...or some random alarmist on the Internet. Who should I choose?

From the video, I got facts and information. In the comments section I found: People who think profit is evil. People who think providing access to nicotine - to people who are under a great deal of stress - is evil. People who think selling inmates e-cigarettes - when many prisons sell them much more harmful cigarettes - is evil. People who have absolutely no idea how volatile of a situation it is to take a bunch of criminally inclined men, strip them of all access to any of the addictive substances they crave and drop them in a concrete box together. All of you need to live a much more...shall we say "colorful" life before passing these judgements. Even dedicated rehab centers allow people to smoke/vape. Nicotine is not nearly as dangerous as some of the chemicals that addicts are coming down from. Furthermore, there is absolutely nothing wrong with coming up with an idea, implementing that idea and making some money from it. The device you're reading this comment on was created based on that very principle.
