Is there a fourth option I wasn't aware of? So far, all I've seen is Trump, Biden, and Kennedy. None of whom fits your description.

That was the whole point. Joy was supposed to bring this woman on and punish her for Wrong Think. However, she's really bad at it, so she just ended up making herself - and her position - look bad.

@onealbanks4148 It's a good thing nobody is talking about deciding it for other people's children. I promise, you can still give your children whatever disgusting, pornographic books you've always given them. Nobody is stopping you from being a terrible parent.

@CYeoung I have read the Bible. It's pretty explicit. I guess that's why there are countless youth Bibles, that edit out the more graphic content. That way, children can learn the primary lessons when they're young and then learn about the more adult themes when they're, you know, adults. I'm sure you knew that, right? So, you're advocating for books like the one talked about in this video to be similarly edited, to be appropriate for use in schools. That is why you brought up the Bible, right? It's not because you were attempting a cheap "gotcha" like your hero Joy Reid, and ended up playing yourself just like she did...right?
5
Yup, you get it.
3
@lisamcbarron6047 That sounds like a terrific reason for said parent to go to the public library and check out that book. It's not like the parent is going to stumble across it in the school library.
3
I couldn't agree more. That's why I would stand strong against anyone trying to ban such books from public libraries. It's also why I fully support removing them from school libraries. As you said, they can be helpful to those who have experienced trauma and traumatic for those who haven't.
3
Wow. Joy's final "gotcha" is that she, herself, apparently doesn't know that public libraries exist. Way to go, Joy. You went ahead and proved that not everyone is intelligent enough to be having these discussions. Maybe it's time for a new line of work.
3
@susandurkin2167 That would be a solid argument if anyone was doing that. Of course, since that's not what's happening, you are arguing with nothing.
2
You don't understand how pardons work.

A whole lot of people in this country agree on the fundamentals. Unfortunately, a two-party system can never represent such a large, diverse group of people, adequately. We've gotten to the point where I keep hoping we get a third party called the "Sanity Party" that would allow a whole lot of us to come together, away from the two sides that keep moving further and further apart.
2
That's the thing. These books are available at the public libraries. The entire argument for keeping them in schools for the sake of "freedom" is completely false. That's how you can tell that none of these people actually promote reading in their households. My children had public library cards at five years old. Our library goes so far that if they don't have a book, they let you order it online from their computers. The book gets shipped to your home and from the when it's delivered, you get the normal two weeks to read the book before you have to bring it in. Then they put the card sleeve inside, stamp it, etc. My kids have read so many brand-new books for free, it's crazy. Anyone who really cares about keeping their kids reading, doesn't rely solely on the extremely limited school libraries.

4:55 Wow, he almost made it a whole five minutes without saying something anti-capitalist. Almost.

@jenkinsmanly-spain1252 Return YouTube Dislike is the name of the extension.
2
Come on. Do you really think the higher ups at MSNBC don't want kids reading sexually explicit material? I'd bet cash money that a handful of them want to read these books to some kids, with said kids sitting on their laps.
1
@arinam2741 It's unfair of you to assume Helen doesn't have kids, just because she wants children reading sexually explicit material. For all you know, she might be a child molester. They, too, want children reading such things. Next time don't be so insensitive.

@emberarashi1987 A Trump supporter with BLM and OWS stickers on the side of his trailer? Really? That's a new one on me. Seems like he wasn't the one making this political. Seems like people on the left are trying to make this political in order to pin this on the right. In reality, he's a dude who went too far down the rabbit hole, looking into giant conspiracies and decided to go the route of "all politicians are the enemy." Not that he's necessarily wrong but he definitely handled it wrong. Meanwhile, you can listen to the 911 calls and read the reports. It's obvious he and Paul knew each other. I have no idea what their relationship was but he was no stranger. Not exactly the type of thing you'd expect if he were a militant Trump supporter.

@gogeta667 Hence, youth Bibles exist. All of the adult-themed content is edited for the age group of the intended reader. Ask the author of the book being discussed in this video if he would be okay with doing the same for the sake of his book being allowed in public schools. A reasonable person will say yes.
1
Why stop at this book? It's clear that Joy is advocating for the removal of any and all restrictions on content available to children. Fortunately, I'm not half as sick and twisted as these people, so I would never expose children to such things.
1
To be fair, Mien Kampf is available in most public high schools.
1
@johnhurtme Why not? Joy Reid obviously can.
1
@ragnarokxg2113 Nobody is telling you what your kid can or cannot read. However, if you think that the school library is the only (or even best) source of books, you're a real problem for your child, who you claim loves to read. Both of my kids had public library cards when they were in Kindergarten. Why doesn't your son?

@cynthiaz9602 Return YouTube Dislike in the Chrome extension store.

Maybe it was after the incredibly abrupt cut-off at the end of the video. They clearly weren't done talking, yet MSNBC decided they really didn't want to upload the end of the discussion. I'll bet it was good, too.
