@cowboyfanzz77 How is this tech more dangerous than the current situation? Somehow, not blocking your view or using your hands is more dangerous than blocking your view and using your hands?

fogeshan Camera systems create significant failure points... at any speed. My mirrors have never glitched. Every digital camera (of any kind) I've ever had has glitched. This isn't rocket science.

I don't think I want ChromeOS on a tablet. Once my Android tablets stop serving their purpose, I'll give it another look...but I'm probably headed for a Windows tablet.
1
Oh, Verizon? Nevermind. I'm leaving them as fast as possible!

Or people will simply go back to pirating content, if the content providers make it prohibitively expensive to access content. If your product isn't worth the price you're asking for it, people won't pay. The difference is, digital content can't be stolen. Only duplicated. If they really want to tango again, there will be plenty of people filling their dance card.

It's an Android powered game console...for under $100! This guy sounds like it should be blowing away the PS3! Here's an idea: Buy it. Try it for yourself. If you like it, great! If you don't, wait a month and drop your choice of custom ROMs on it. It's a fully hackable, open source game console! If you don't like what it is now, just turn it into something you do want. At absolute least, you can run XBMC on it and have a better set top box than anything else on the market.

Best. 90. Ever.

I wonder what "Retina" will mean this time? First, iPhone's "Retina" @ 326ppi. Next, iPad's "Retina" @ 264ppi. Then MacBook's "Retina" @ 220ppi. At this rate, the next "Retina" classification is going to include my TI calculator!

On the plus side, it's only a matter of time before some third-party devs start implementing a chat heads-like system for other chat and SMS apps. Everything else about Facebook Home looks way too intrusive and isn't worth the spce it would take up on my phone.
1
It doesn't matter one way or another. People are more addicted to their phones than smokers are to cigarettes. Smartphones could give you AIDS, Cancer and Leprosy and billions of people would still have one on them every day. We're all just a bunch of digital meth-heads, now.

Rapidly becoming one of my favorite Tech News sources.

Nice.

Ed: I'm sorry Shawn. Shawn: It's alright. Ed: No...I'm SORRY shawn.

Most of the comments are about a phone case. I don't think sperm count is as big of an issue as Attention Deficit Disorder right now...

Moto better release a "Nexus experience" version of the X if they want half a chance against the One and SIV.
1
Fox, I hate you. Last I checked, there were tons of books, TV shows and movies that happened to share a title. This is a ridiculous move and one that proves the DMCA is massively flawed.
1
@mehsdomi Then I would suggest you stop watching reviews of Android powered Samsung devices. Just a thought.

Loving the Verge. Keep up the good work. Subscribed.

Sad/scary/proof of a flawed system that one person can affect stock prices that much with a single act. As for Prince, please remove that luddite from the Web before he breaks it.

I'm more looking forward to a tablet version. I'd be much more likely to install (read: dual boot) Ubuntu on my Infinity than on my Nexus. But then, I wouldn't want something this simplified either. I'm thinking UNR style for ARM.
1
I remember that excuse from when they announced the Retina iPad. That would probably make sense except that, contrary to the demo, I've never seen anyone hold their phone 12" from their face. Usually 18-24"...just like a tablet. Hmmmm....
1
Bring on the ad-free, paid channels! Just make sure the prices make sense. If you aren't offering as much content as Netflix, don't think anyone's going to pay the same price. If everyone keeps their prices reasonable, they'll make plenty of money.

Cool. Now can we loop around to the "retro feel" of slide-out keyboards? That's the nostalgia I'm looking for.

But...I always loved pointing out to old hippies that their choice in cars makes them some of the worst polluters on the planet. Now I'm gonna have to find someone else to laugh at! Damn it!

Not surprising that Netflix would surpass HBO. HBO: Tied to Cable/Satellite subscription. $10-$25/month (on top of cable bill). Available on some devices. Netflix: $8/month for anyone, regardless of other services. Available on virtually all devices, set tops, etc. Hopefully this will push HBO to go independent and let cable-cutters get in on the action. It's not like they *need* the Cable companies anymore.

Well...at least he wasn't promoting Motoblur. I mean, I have no love for Touchwiz but blur is just a horrible mess.

90 seconds well spent.

Single seat? Check. Short range? Check. All the sexiness of Steve Urkel's Bimmer with none of the comedic charm? Check Conclusion: This car is for losers. People who go nowhere but to work and the grocery store. People who are so sure they're going to be alone forever, that they're confident in spending $20,000 on a car that won't allow them to even take one passenger. This is a three-wheeled cry for help.

That would make you the one person I know of who *almost* bought a ChaCha...and it wasn't because of its Facebook integration, so that explains it. The ChaCha and the Salsa were HTC's first attempts at making Android phones that were Facebook-centric. Thus, the dedicated Facebook button on the front of the phone. They tanked. Hard. History is now repeating with the First.

Wow. MS promotes the use of ad-block. Didn't see that one coming.

ChromeOS is a netbook OS. They're adding features to make it tablet friendly but it has always been for lightweight, portable laptops.
1
Thus the return of Napster is inevitable.

So many people keep hoping they'll bring OSX to the iPad. I wonder how many were disappointed when they announced the iPad Air and it didn't run OSX. "It's finally happening! Wait, what? It's still just iOS?!"
