DeathBloodFunnyGuy Actually, all it would take to drastically reduce the number of people killed by cars, is for everyone who could use public transportation, to do so. As it stands, most people are far too privileged for that and would never dream of giving up their private morning commute for a bus or train ride. We've seen the numbers year after year. Cars kill more people than guns in the US and there are actually less cars on the road than guns in private ownership. The masses have decided that it's worth it - that all those deaths are acceptable losses - for the sake of private commutes and using the drive-thru. If five people are killed and ten are wounded by a tweaker with a truck, the response is "That bastard!" If the same number of people are killed and harmed by a tweaker with a handgun, it's "We need more gun control laws!" Why are the victims of vehicle collisions robbed of the public outcry? Because more people like cars than guns. Sad, isn't it? Hell, climate change is still a controversial topic (hysterically). Vehicle deaths are accepted as fact by all (kinda hard to tell a dead guy that he isn't). Yet somehow, climate change has done more to affect change in this area than vehicle deaths have. /rant
