That's so sad. A grown man with such a large, irrational fear, that he would subject himself to living in North Dakota. The funny thing is, there are real predators up there.

"Red to yellow, kill a fellow. Red to black, venom lack. That's specifically how to differentiate corral snakes from non-venomous snakes with similar patterns (like the milksnake).

@Whats-It-To-Ya A Retic clutch can have anywhere from 20 to 100 eggs (usually about 40). Burns average about 35 eggs. Anacondaa average 30. They all lay at least one clutch per year. Even with other animals eating their eggs and their young, there are still way more surviving than dying. If there are 100 female Retics out there laying (there are way more, it's just an example) and half of their babies are surviving, that means there will be 2000 more retics in the wild the next year. Half of those are female and in three years, they'll be old enough to start breeding. 1000x20=20,000 and that's not including all the new clutches from the original 100, for that three years. You can kill on sight all you want but the ones that you're not seeing (which are the majority) are multiplying faster than rabbits. There is no viable solution for winning Florida back from the big snakes.

@Whats-It-To-Ya How many native species will die out before the invasive snakes run out of food? Multiple keystone species all competing for the same prey. The big snakes even eat smaller alligators than themselves.

Yeah...I'm good. The snakes don't bother me.

@Valkyrie00016 That's not a problem. I've never been afraid of snakes, so I don't need to seek out places to hide from them. Heck, I own five of them. If I moved to ND, you and OP might have to flee the state and move to Canada. 😂

It's not just a suggestion. You do have Anacondas.

Only certain Kings look like Corrals. Also, some Milksnakes, Hognose, etc.

Any major city. You'll get mugged and killed (and that's all, if you're lucky) but at least you won't have to see something that is extremely unlikely to hurt you...

@renegadetenor About 5 people per year die of snake bites. About 1320 die of hypothermia. I'll take my chances with the snakes.

Retics, Burms, and yes, Anacondas are all in Florida. They're not really a problem for people. They're a bigger threat to the balance of the ecosystem there. Invasive species are hell on local populations of animals. People have way more fear of snakes than they should. Anacondas are nothing like the CGI monsters they use in the movies. They're just animals, laying around, waiting for some food. Moose, Grizzly bears, Alligators...there are a bunch of animals far more aggressive and capable of killing a person than most snakes.

@cindylou-who9193 Of course he's not alone. There are way more people who are mindlessly afraid of snakes than there are sane, rational people. If more people got their information from National Geographic instead of Hollywood, they'd have much less stressful lives. Instead, they think spiders and snakes are going to hunt them down and kill them. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. Florida Fish and Wildlife are going around to people's properties, slaughtering their properly housed, captive bred, pet reptiles to "save the Everglades" while ignorant snake haters cheer them on. They're doing nothing to solve the actual problem but they keep getting praise from folks who fear all snakes, so they'll just keep going. They just killed a guy's boa for the "crime" of looking kinda like a python. That's it. They're perfectly legal to own in Florida but this man's pet - that he raised for ten years - got killed because of how it looked to some ignorant people. Nobody cares, though, so these kinds of things will keep happening. All because millions of people are unwilling to let go of their ignorance and bias.

@md.fahadhossain8021 I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Most people who are bitten by snakes realize it's no big deal. An average house cat can do more damage than an average snake. I have a 135 pound dog and two cats. I'm not afraid of them, so I'm certainly not going to be afraid of a snake.
