  1. To the wannabe homesteaders: Do everyone a favor. When you give up within three years - because it turns out that homesteading is really hard - please re-list your property within a reasonable margin of what you paid for it/put into it. There are already too many people out there who are trying to get an extra $100,000+ for homes they bought a few years ago, only to have to return to their cities when their bosses figured out they weren't doing any work remotely. The market is ridiculous as it is. Please don't add to it by trying to make others pay for your mistakes. Thank you.

Cars start losing value the minute you drive them off the lot and continue throughout their existence. So, yes. Depending on how long you've owned it, you would absolutely sell a $30,000 car for $15,000. Did you want to make any other simplistic, ridiculous comparisons, or would you like me to take you to task on the actual subject? The other option would be to realize you're spouting nonsense and move on but somehow, I don't think you're that smart.
