  1. Yeah but there's a problem with this comparison. Yes, people move from other States to California. However, the average "I'm goin' to California!" Liberal Southerner, is still more conservative than your average "I'm gettin' out of California!" Conservative Californian. The exchange rate is pretty far off. Especially since, as you mentioned, it's still more Californians coming in than others moving out.
