Of course they will. Most California Democrats are on government assistance. They aren't going to vote against the people who pay their rent and refill their EBT cards.

These are not "unintended consequences." The Dems look like heroes to their base, who doesn't understand basic math. Meanwhile, they've targeted the fast food industry so that when this fails, they can say "Well, it was too much too soon but Californians will be healthier for it!" All the while, they continue getting more people hooked on government assistance. Nobody votes Democrat harder than someone whose life depends on it. Again, not "unintended consequences." It's just called "the plan."
