  1. My Suburban cost me $2500 almost six years ago. I've put maybe $8000 worth of gas in it in that time. I've probably spent a couple grand on maintenance. I'm under $13,000 in five years and it hauls things like the Bobcat I rented to trench my backyard. It also takes me up the chopped up trail to my favorite fishing hole. I'm well within the EV "mostly sticks around town" demographic, yet I can't find a good reason to drop $30,000 on one. I could easily pick up a used Corolla for another couple grand if I wanted really good mileage. It would still take more than a decade to get to the cost of a new EV (and by then, there will be plenty of used ones on the market).
