@lifestylemaster6186 who said we need US consent? P8i aircraft is used in ladakh too without consulting US. The only problem will be why india need to fly f-18 in ladakh? There are so many air force jets available in ladakh. If you take f-18 out of Vikrant then the aircraft carrier will be toothless without its jet.

@lifestylemaster6186 I don't think so. The Navy will never fly their jet in himalayas by abandoning their lead ship. Even if their is no war, you just cannot abandoned a billion aircraft carrier the way you like. It is the pride of Indian navy

No countries in the world will built their jets outside their country just by purchasing 50+ jets. Even buying 200 jets may or may not give you TOT.

@lifestylemaster6186 Most of them is not all of them. By the way vikrant is still not in active service so taking out its firepower and keeping it like a sitting duck is not a wise move. Navy will never strip off the jets when vikrant is in active service.
