Go sit in a bmw 6 series and see the superb build quality leather everywhere it makes the japense cars look like cheap garbage... Subaru is plastic every where and Lexus also dreams to reach German luxury level. Also they are reliable just not as reliable as others. There's a difference . And that's because they are way more technologically advanced and luxurious and comfortable and those technologies and features of course are prone to breaking down but at the same time they more than make up for not being as reliable as say Toyota. If German reliability sucked then no one would buy them... Clearly that isn't the case since people biy them and value the leading technology and performance they bring to their cars.

Air bag seat belts save lives. Autopilot allows the diver to relax and take their eyes of the road and significantlu reduces stress in stop and go traffic especially. So none of theses are gimmicks, they provide safety and conviencience which is the opposite of a gimmick. And yes you do like Japanese cars we have all seen your comments before. If Japanese cars had these features but not mercedes you would be prasing them non stop but because that's not the case you call them gimmicks... Take your double standard excises else where.... Rr and bently are overpriced.... mercedes has more features and is light years ahead of them technology wise. Heck rr and Bentley don't even have basic technology like parking assist and breaking assist... Even a ford has that! EPIC FAIL especially for a car that costs as much as a freaking house. Mercedes provides you more and at a far more affordable price in comparison So Try again!

Qualityof materials + massaging seats Design of interior + ambient lighting (sight) Perfume dispensor (smell) These are just to make a fee and these set the tone of the cabin and define the experience of getting from place to place and make it more premium , enjoyable and take away stress yes. This is a luxury car so it's supposed to get you from place to place in the most comfortable and relaxing way possible what's wrong with that
