And the interiors are massively different So yes while they undeniably share similar design language they are still very much distinguishable. Bmw and audi do this too because by your logic 5 series looks lkke mini 7 series and a4 looks like mini a6 just with different lights. So nearly all German companies do this. Frankly there is nothing wrong with this design philosophy as sales suggest. These cars are meant to be under the radar... Hence the concept of stealth wealth.. . so by being similar they blend in well and allow the car not to be flashy. Furthermore this kind of design philosophy is good also because if they looked completly different for instance and someone didn't like the design of the e class they might give up the e classes better interior for a c class or go to another company altogether. Its as good as a performer on the track as it is on the road the nissan that made that time can't be used in the road. Amg can produce those numbers while still being street legal. So amg gt r is still faster... Hence why it beat the nismo at mazda raceway in mother trends test. Not to mention the amg gt r is cheaper too (and usijg your own logix with 10to 20k you could make amg gt r even faster) and plus there is the amg gt r black series to come which will blow the nissan out of the water even more.

If you couldn't already tell by the massive size difference the s class (especially the face lift) looks completely different from the e and c. S class has three curve headlights, e class 2 curve headlights and c class single curve headlights respectively. S class also has a COMPLETLY different front grill. And each class has completely different front and rear diffusers as well. The s class has 3 taillights while the c and e have 2 taillights. Not to mention the s class has more defined and pronounced depth, body lines and proportions and also has a lot more chrome trim too. And the interiors are significantly different. S class dashboard surroundeds the screens in leather. C class is a floating screen that looks completely different. And e class is a combination of the two which makes sense since its inbetween the c and s... Hence it has the cengre console of the c class and dashboard of the s class however with the screens sticking out more. They are not soulless. You are. Their souls are full of elegance and luxury and have the perfect balance of classy and moderneess to them. Older c class and e class looked absolutely hidious and outdated interior wise and their outsides were far too boxy. These designs are far more elegant. And by sharing similar body language they strengthen brand image and identity. And even though they share similar design language they are still distinguishable in their own respect... Especially interior wise. And frankly there is abosolutly nothing wrong with this design philosophy as sales suggest. Nearly every single manufacturer does this one way or another....by your logic then we can say 5 series is a mini 7 series.... A4 is an a6 just with different lights and shorter length. And these cars are not meant to be flashy... They are meant to be under the radar.... Hence the concept of stealth wealth. So by sharing similar design language.... They are able to blend in better. Furthermore.... This makes sense when you think about it from the perspective of a customer.... Let's say someone is in the market to buy the e class but they don't like the exterior design of the e class but love the c class's exterior design. As a result of this that person may be compeled to go for the c class... And give up the e class and its better interior, and all the additional features and technology it has..... If not go for a different company altogether. So by giving the similar good looking design that person won't have to give up the better interior etc and will still get the design they like. So its a win win for both the customer and the company. So actually its far better than the old ones. New c e s and cls are significantly better than there old predecessors. The old ones look outdated already let alone next to the new ones.

Especially considering how the m5 came a year after the e63. That means that it was BMW studying the e63, taking notes testing on nurburgring again again not the other way around. So in this generation you can't say that bmw led it when they are clearly following. Before I agree yes they used to lead. But this generation e63 clearly led the way. And s model is simply the 4 wheel drive model which is still similarly priced to the base m5. So Mercedes can introduce better version of e63s if they want to easily. M hasn't quite reclaimed its crown. Back then I agree BMW was dominating but now Mercedes is batteling neck in neck with bmw and in some respecta amg is actually doing a lot better than BMW. Mercedes amg for example won this years f1 world championship. In comparison bmw not only hasn't won won f1 championship these years...they are not even in f1! That's how bad they are. And Mercedes also has a supercar the sls.... A super sports car the amg gt r which is the fastest rwd car to lap the ring that is still in production. No bmw can touch these cars let Alone the project one hyper car. And he project one is no flop. Its already sold out and its based on Mercedes f1 technology and considering that they won this year of looks to be a very promising car. The project one revs to 11000 rpms! Does 0-100kmph in 2 seconds and 0-200kmph in under 6 seconds! That's no flop at all! Those are f1 figures yet are street legal too! He got hit with a tsunami of a wave by a car in front.. This is more bad luck than anything else Thats why This isn't a warranty issue nothing broke because of an mechanical issue it's was due to weather. Mercedes would honor it if it was just that but anything else falls under insurance. That's like saying a Ferrari should be better engineered so it won't have hail damage, and if it gets caught in a hail storm...and is damaged, FERRARI should warranty it. the car's systems can only handle so much of an influx of water at once. It can filter some out and cope with it, burn it off, etc. But he got bombarded with a large wave of water that's harder for a car, any car, to cope with. That's why you avoid driving through high water or when there's a chance to get a large level of water in the car. That's one of the things I learned when driving you AVOID large puddles because there's always that chance enough water can get into the intake and hydrolock the engine. Regardless, it's not a warranty thing, the car didn't fail because of any mechanical or design flaw it failed because of operator error/"an act of God." Merc designed and built the car, but they're not the ones who allow large sums of water to get thrown in the intake. I mean the car has to have an intake and anywhere it is it risks sucking in water. Avoid puddles. If you driving on the road and you see cars in the oncoming lane splashing up large amounts of water from puddles either movie over to another lane, get off that street, or pull over and wait for the rain to die down. Cars run on fuel and air, they can't run at all on water. If it were many c63s getting hydrolocked like this then it would be recalled... But this isn't the case... This is an incredibly rare and unlucky scenario and would effect almost any car in a similar way.

S class has adaptive suspension well before Audi even knew it existed.... As last of Mercedes magic body control. It will scan the road ahead for bumps and prepare the suspension ahead if time to absorb them... So you can even go over a speed bump and not know it. So nothing new there. Mercedes had it before. If you said before facelift then yes a8 would have more technology but even the prefacelift s class had 90% of what the new a8 has... So with the facelift they filled in the other 10% and then some. Better interior? Nope. Merc interior looks more elegant ehikr Audi looks more business like and more futuristic. However Unlike piano finish Mercedes dash is covered with leather and has wood trim too.... Not to mention its more comfortable. However both cars have great interiors so it depends on your preferences. S class looks more inviting and a caccons you with luxury. Audi looks like it has a more business vibe to it (which is not bad BTW) Model s is a Tesla. This is an s class. You don't even know the name of this car and yet you are making claims. No Mercedes is still ahead but the gap has been significantly reduced as the others have caught up. During the time though that the others were catching up Mercedes was preparing the new s class already... So they are still ahead in that respect. No they are not thrash. The new continental is beautiful and a major step up from Bentley but still many are skeptical about exterior design (especially the rear end) also... Continental is a coupe not a sedan. And while its a major major step up and beautiful interior design its still behind big time..... A8 and s class are light years ahead if technology of the Bentley and have far more features and luxurious amenities too. I am talking about Bentley mulsanne... So from this perspective not only are they in the same league but they are in many ways better. Not to mention how Mercedes has maybach trim level which further ups the quality to not only compete with Bentley but blow it out of the water especially considering what you get for the price you are paying for each car.

Yes they share similar platforms but a car is so much more than a platform. By that logic then the amg gt is the same class as a c63 since they share similar engines.They might have similar foundations and similar dna but they will still differ a lot. The point is that they are different enough to be given their own model name by the manufactorer themselves. If that weren't the case than why not call it rs6 sedan instead of rs7??? A7 and Cls design wise are longer more "hatchback" like sleeker designs of the a6 and e class respectively. So no disagreement there. However they are still different cars....they are longer and aren't as agile and good at handling as their younger brothers. Maybe audi like to share a lot with the rs6 but for the cls that couldn't be more farther from the truth. The cls has a completely different exterior and interior design to the e class. Even still the point is that in north america there is no rs6 no wagon no sedan. Rs7 is nice but some people want more agility and handling and fun to drive which would the rs6s job. By that logic then the rs7 should have its own wagon version just like cls has its wagon version (shooting break) An rs7 doesn't compete with an m5 or e63, it competes with a cls63 and m6 and panomera. That's like saying a Ferrari should be better engineered so it won't have hail damage, and if it gets caught in a hail storm...and is damaged, FERRARI should warranty it. the car's systems can only handle so much of an influx of water at once. It can filter some out and cope with it, burn it off, etc. But he got bombarded with a large wave of water that's harder for a car, any car, to cope with. That's why you avoid driving through high water or when there's a chance to get a large level of water in the car. That's one of the things I learned when driving you AVOID large puddles because there's always that chance enough water can get into the intake and hydrolock the engine. Regardless, it's not a warranty thing, the car didn't fail because of any mechanical or design flaw it failed because of operator error/"an act of God." Merc designed and built the car, but they're not the ones who allow large sums of water to get thrown in the intake. I mean the car has to have an intake and anywhere it is it risks sucking in water. Avoid puddles. If you driving on the road and you see cars in the oncoming lane splashing up large amounts of water from puddles either movie over to another lane, get off that street, or pull over and wait for the rain to die down. Cars run on fuel and air, they can't run at all on water. If it were many c63s getting hydrolocked like this then it would be recalled... But this isn't the case... This is an incredibly rare and unlucky scenario and would effect almost any car in a similar way.

  358. Latvietis96 stop fanboying BMW so hard. Both c63 and m3 are awesome and each excellent in their own respects. Like I told you before... As a sports sedan the m3 is the superior one when it comes to track performance and I must say exterior wise it looks more atheletic and sexy too. However c63 is a different approach to the sports sedan that leans more on the gt side/aspect. Hence its superior looking interior over the m3. If you think c63 interior is cheap than you couldn't be more mistaken. Its m3 interior that's disappointing. The interior of the m3 looks no where near as beautiful as ItS Exterior which makes it a big let down. Both interiors are in par in terms of build quality... But Merc interior looks better and has ambient lighting and wood trim to name just a few amount many other luxurious amenities. So c63 has the better interior. C63 also has the better sound.... V8 rumble over m3 i6 for sound any day... No contest there. C63 is not fake. Its real authentic engine sound. Its the new e class that remaps the exhaust note and amplifis it through the speakers, not the c class. M3 exhaust sound is fake which BTW I have no problem with but still it doesn't sound as good as c63 v8. So Mercedes is better at being a sporty gt sedan and m3 is better at being a sports sedan. It all depends on your preferences and what you look for and prioritize more for the car. You don't need to hate one brand to like the other. Neither is bad, both are good. And its this competition and rivalry between them that make both of them improve more and more.

  371. +MadProductionsink Ok relaxe with the capslock at the end mate Here I will break it down for you first of all wagons are not all that common so in a sense they are more rare, more exlusive and that in of itself makes them very appealing second of all they have significantly more space than saloon cars. thanks to their design their trunks are not just longer but taller too thus they are significantly bigger as a result you can have a third row of seats so unlike a normal sedan you can seat 7 passengers (similar to an suv) and the trunk is taller with a lot more room for big items, especially if you tuck down the rear seats. Just search youtube videos and see for yourself. The difference is drastic and impressive. And a lot of people value this space (and also thanks to their rectangle rear end its easier to put objects in the trunk, especially larger objects) third of all, looks are subjective, while you may not like them many people do. In fact I think its a matter of you not having seen the best.....just look at the volvo v90 sport, audi rs6 and the mercedes e63s wagon and c63s wagon. Just search for their pictures and you will see. These are the best looking wagons....and will redefine what comes to your head when you think of estates/wagons. I am pretty confident they will change your perception of them atleast a little bit. These are not only good looking but they are luxurious, comfortable and high quality. It isn't outrageous at all, especially if you go for the sport versions...why would it be outragous? Take a look at my personal favorite, the e63s wagon. It has supercar performance yet also the practicality of a family car. Thus it becomes a super family car! Add to that the greater practicality and exclusivity of a wagon and you have a very appealing car indeeed! In particular I think the wagon versions look better than there sedan versions. The s90 rear lights look hidious as though volvo forgot to design the rear end and scribbled something down last minute...whereas the v90 rear looks like an actual volvo (it has true volvo design language)...the rs6 has much more presence in its wagon form....the e63 sedan rear lights are too narrow...the wagon fixes that for me....they are longer/wider and give the car a more athletic design. Cars like the cls are awesome but they don't seat as many people, their trunks are not as big and wide and they are no where near as agile as wagons which means they compromise a little on performance in comparison. Don't get me wrong though, I love the cls and would totally buy one....but if it came between a cls or e63s wagon I would have to take the wagon....its just so much more appealing and unique. Also btw there is something called a cls shooting break which essentially is like an estate. Again I don't expect you to like wagons better but atleast realize that they have their own appeal to a lot of people...maybe not americans but europeans love them.

That doesn't make it fake. 2 even if we consider that fake why is it a problem? Ultimately exhaust tips should look cool and this looks awesome. This is the only way to design the pipes in this curvy parallelogram like shape which you couldn't do with a normal "real" design pipe. Furthermore it also protects the exhaust pipe. So there is nothing wrong with the "fake" exhaust pipes. Looks much better than the plane ugly circle exhaust pipes of the rs6. The quad looks much better and more sporty and athletic. This kind of design language strengthens brand identity and it keeps customers to the company......for example.....say you are wanting to buy the e class but it looks completly different to the c class and you don't like the c class....you might in that case give up the e class's better interior and go for the c class if not go for another car company all together. A combination of a deep puddle, big wave and quick burst of water. Literally almost any car would get hydrolocked under autovlogs exact scenario. The intakes of the c63 sits low in the front since its a performance car and having the intake in such a position allows the v8 engine to breath better and hence perform better. And it has measures that prevent hydrolock but autovlog got hit with too much water too fast for the system to even react. Thus this is more bad luck than anything else. If this was a design issue then we would see a whole lot more c63s getting hydrolocked and mercedes would have to recall them . This isn't the case at all. Funny enough auto vlog filmed before and after accident but not during the accident. Pretty fishy. Hence there is more to this story but based on what we know This is a rare case scenario and would afffect almost any car in the same way. And no I don't live in the desert, thats just your assumption. Yes mercedes knows how to make cars. Heck they invented the modern automobile in the first place. A8 and 7 series are beautiful and amazing but s class is just on another level. At base model sure lets say that a8 has better build quality... Fine.... 1 its not by that much.... So its neglible... And 2 you can easily the option the s class to the build quality you want.... So it can be right on par with the a8 in terms of build quality very easily. Furthermore s class can come as a maybach trim level version which the 7 series and a8 just can't compete with. The build quality of the maybach is far superior to them.... So much so that you can even get alligator skin if wised! 7 series has better infotainment system but that doesn't take away from how good the s class's infortainment system is which is more than enough and more than what you need. Besides you don't buy these kinds of cars just for the infotainment system. Looks are subjective... You are a Mercedes hater so that's what you will say no surprise. For me s class looks the most elegant and classy. A8 looks the sharpest, business like and futuristic and bmw looks macho and buff like. They all look nice just in different ways. You don't speak for most people so quit talking out of your ass dude. They also have different front and rear diffuses from each other. So yes they undeniably share similar design language with each other however they are still very much distinguishable. You could argue that 5 series looks like mini 7 series or that audi a3 looks like a4 with different lights. or that panemera looks like 4 door 911. We are talking about the whole picture. Many people complained about the x7 concept which the production car will be based on. And many people also complained about the audi a7 and said the old one looked much better. Every design that comes out by pretty much every manufacterer will get hate and dislike. Not everyone will be satisfied. That's just how it is. Aware of this mistake? Do you even listen to yourself? People complained endlessly about how ugly they thought the x7 looked like. Even the 8 series people complained about. That's not true at all. People who buy the cls are looking for a 4 door sedan with a coupe like design which the rr is the complete opposite off.. RR a box on wheels.So to people who buy the cls that would actually be a downgrade design wise not an upgrade. G wagon and rr are show off cars. But not the cls. Definitely not. Some people may use them that way but that's definitely not the intention of the main market of buyers for it.

Objectivly speaking s class is the better car. Period. Its not just my opinion. Its based on facts. S class is more technologically advanced, more comfortable, more luxurious, has more features, has more luxurious amenities, is safter, is quited, has better transmission, etc etc. These are facts. Not just my opinion but the facts and consensus of many customers and journalists. Plus the s class out sells the Ls like big time. S class is the better car despite being released 4 years earlier. Its the car that sets the benchmark and segment and every other car trys to follow. That's why Lexus had to take nearly 4 years to finally come out with the ls and still couldn't beat the s class. You can't beat the Germans at their own game. S class is the 911 of luxury cars. I'm a merc fan but not a die bard one. There are plenty of other cars I would prefer over their respective merc models. You should leave because you asked me to leave when you should be looking in the mirror before you ask that. So customers choose whether they want to have leather on certain areas of the car or not like the dash. So if a s class is not equipped with leather dash thats because the person didn't spec it that way. Mercedes gives cutomers total freedom, because not all customers want to pay for something they don't want. Some people don't need leather dash because one they never touch the dash, you look at the dash you don't touch it and two some customers don't like how animals are killed just for skin. So customer has full option to equip with or without leather "cheap climate control buttons" Same story, you choose the level of quality you want throughout the car. They are not cheap. they are actually very ood quality. thay are not plastic. The click sound is actually professinal and solid not cheap. The click souhdsn reassures that you made a decision so you don''t have to look down. By your logic then the click of the mouse is cheap. thats a pathetic arguement. So yes mercedes is in fact reliable if you take care of them No its not normal. Its rare. Thats not true at all. Certain models get recalls. But the vast majority of mercedes benz models do not break down often or get recalls at all. If that were the case then no one would buy them....clearly this is not the case so again quit talking out of your god dam ass. No thats not what we say. its expensive to maintain sure. But its reliable if you take care of it. Huge difference. And if you want to jack of to reliability to much then you don't need to buy a lexus. Buy a fully equipped avalon instead .....cheaper and way more reliable than lexus ls.
