  1. If you get a good job you will have a decent Employers Pension, which will allow you to retire much earlier and enjoy a comfortable standard of living. Anyone who relies solely on the State Pension to determine when they can retire is incredibly foolish. Plan for your retirement !

  2. Agreed, but ensuring you work for a company that has a decent employers pension is very sensible and then you can retire much earlier. I retired at 50 and immediately received my employers pension. Whilst it was less than if I had worked longer, it was sufficient and my quality of life improved.
