No, showing continued support for the USA is essential for someone who believes they will be the UK's next PM.

He's a politician and very likely our next PM. Politicians make decisions based on political criteria and rarely are these ever based on humanitarian considerations.

Labour don't have such a plan, where do you get such rubbish from. Hopefully Hunt will abolish IHT in the Autumn statement, it will be hugely popular with anyone that has the slightest ambition.

A necessary qualification for a politician and absolutely essential in a future PM.

All politicians do, it comes with the job. Politics isn't for nice people.

Did you bang your head, he's our next PM, the only thing thats uncertain is the size of his majority.

His wife is Jewish and his children are being brought up in the Jewish faith. More importantly the UK government has aligned itself with the USA and Starmer as PM in waiting has very sensibly done the same. Friends in the Whitehouse are far more important than Gazza.

Very funny, Labour grass roots died decades ago.

What does standing for the people of the UK mean ? Supporting our greatest military ally and huge trading partner the USA or a county most people couldn't find on the map ?

Starmer as the PM in waiting appreciates how essential it's for the UK, both militarily and economically to continue to align itself with the USA. It was obvious that only when the US changed its position that he and the UK government do the same.

This is exactly why Sunak won't call an election until at least October. Losing is a given but the size of Labours majority isn't.

Humanity doesn't pay the bills.

@Dylanesque He's a politician now and very likely our next PM. Politics and humanity are very different things and rarely ever coincide.
1
@JH-lf4ql No he's a politician and very likely our next PM.

@julianpetkov8320 Its normal for the UK government and anyone that sees themselves as our next PM to align themselves with the USA. It was obvious that only when the US changed its position would the UK do the same.
1
He may well be conflicted. Being a politician, particularly one who is likely to be our next PM and a humanitarian are very different things.

A necessity in politics, essential in anyone seeking to become our next PM. Politics isn't for nice people.

The only thing that is uncertain about the election apart from the timing is the size of Labours majority. This is why Sunak will wait until at least October.

For what, supporting the USA, our greatest military ally and huge trading partner ?
