I achieved it at 50 and like you, I made the necessary plans to give me the lifestyle I wanted. Nineteen years later and absolutely no regrets

No, the cost at @ £10,000 compensation for each of the 3.5 million women effected is @ £35 billion !

I was the first year that had to wait until age 66 to receive a state pension. I was born 12 days too late. I also retired at 50 and had confirmation from HMRC that I had made 30 years contributions and would get a full State pension. This then changed in 2016 and it became necessary to have 35 years contributions. Despite making a further 2 years contributions I then had to buy an additional 3 years contributions at a cost of @ £ 3200 to ensure i received a full State Pension. The break even period was @ 3 years so a worthwhile cost. Life isn't fair, you just have to make the best of it and be grateful for what you have, not bitter for what you don't..

@freedomforthebrave The key is planning which involves taking personal responsibility, something many people can't manage !

Nothing, but when change doesn't work in your favour, it's unpopular.

@bobatwell7505 Whilst nothing changed for men, how is having to wait 5 years more than women to receive a state pension fair ? Women wanted equality, this is a consequence.

@wizzyno1566 Its human nature to ignore those things that you would rather not know.

Why rely on the State Pension, do your own pension planning and retire much earlier. Taking personal responsibility isn't difficult !

@christinehomer2185 You were too lazy to check information that had been in the public domain for years.
