Not allowed to protest in the middle of a public highway !

Hopefully all the signs will receive the same attention as ULEZ cameras.

Supermarkets do that anyway.

@Trickynickymarts When I sold my last house, I sold it to the highest bidder. They demolished it and built a monster, but I had the money and moved on.
2
Why should a farmers children not pay inheritance tax but ordinary peoples children do ?
2
Why would they commit financial suicide ? What farm doesn't rely on borrowed money ?
2
Clarkson brought a farm from a farmer and now he farms it. Whats changed other who owns it ?

Men in denim built what the men in suits paid them to build.
1
I am.
1
Are you prepared to give up all the other protections it affords you ? It's a bit like having a headache and rather than taking an aspirin ,deciding to chop your head off.
1
@hollytalbot6695 Why not if the return is better ? Farming is a business, no different from converting stables into offices and renting them.

Reform said the same. The reality is that IHT raised £4.3Bn in the 6 months to Sept 24, a 10% increase on the previous period. With an annual value of £9Bn and increasing its unaffordable unless many other taxes are increased /services cut to compensate.
1
If they need to sell land they should sell it to whoever will pay the most.
1
Will the average Yotuber understand your comment, I doubt it !
1
IHT is an immoral tax and needs to be abolished. I'm more than happy for other taxes to be increased to compensate for the lost £9Bn a year in revenue.
1
Coalition governments rarely achieve much.
1
Why should they. The farmer in my lane, rents all his fields to others who farm it and pay a fixed annual rental. Like Clarkson he is wealthy person who has numerous sources of income and wants to spend his time doing the things he enjoys.
1
A less than 3% increase in 7 years. How I wish my bills did the same !
1
Whilst many farmers work incredibly hard, they aren't very good at business. It's not about how hard you work but how smart you are at it.
1
My sentiments exactly.
1
@jenniferlawrence2701 Small farms will be of little interest to large corporations.
1
You have to be prepared to accept the consequences of doing so and they make come at a very high price.
1
Use the IHT seven year rule. If you don't know what it is, Google it and learn something useful.
1
Why not simply use the IHT seven year rule. If you don't know what it is, google it and learn something ?
1
Nonsense. IHT can only be paid with money, not land, crops or livestock.
1
Supermarkets make farming uneconomic, ask farmers.
1
Business people didn't want to leave, business likes certainty and access to other markets with the minimum of regulation. It was Joe public that wanted out.
1
If the issue is solely one of food security, does it matter who owns the farms ?
1
As many farmers have long term contracts with supermarkets that not possible.
1
Great name for a line though !
1
Ordinary people pay IHT, why not farmers ?
