Very true, the speed and frequency of rate rises has caught many out and some will have very difficult decisions to make. Im pleased I'm now mortgage free and have savings.

@petershaw6346 They are already the most heavily taxed. The top 1% of earners pay @ 28% of all income tax, the bottom 50% pay just 10%. Its a working class myth that they they somehow pay most tax. The reality is they pay the least if any and get most of the state benefits.

When times were good and money was cheap people made substantial gains on property and they took the credit, now rates are much higher the lenders are the bad guys ?
