  4. No one is being forced, if you plan properly and can afford it, you can retire much earlier. It's what I did. The other alternative is that NI contributions are significantly increased for the working population to fund an earlier retirement age. Its your choice ?

  8. If you intend relying solely on the state pension to fund your retirement it will be a very miserable one. Sensible people plan for their retirement, then it can be comfortable. Alternatively every working person can pay significantly higher NI to fund an earlier retirement age. Someone has to pay for it, you choose ?
