@DisturbedbyDeth Why are people always looking for someone to blame rather than taking personal responsibility for their own lives. As a boomer I never remember anything being easy, I didn't complain, I just did the best I possibly could.

As an ex bank manager thats the best advise. Those who get into the most difficulties are those who ignore the problem. Banks and building societies only repossess as a last result, it's time consuming and costly.

Banks are in business to make money, they have shareholders and aren't a charity. Your Pension fund is probably one of those shareholders.

If RBS had been allowed to fail confidence in the entire financial system would have been undermined and economy would have gone into meltdown. Thats why RBS and Lloyds were bailed out

@pauln6803 The Government (taxpayer) became the majority owner of RBS. As some of the bailout monies have been repaid its now a minority shareholder.

Two UK banks were bailed out, RBS and Lloyds, that's all. The UK's biggest bank HSBC wasn't .

@braxxian If banks had been allowed to fail the economy would have gone into meltdown. Our whole way of life depends on a stable banking system.
