  1. Mortgage rates were 3 and 4 times higher than that of today. To suggest that a house cost little more than a years salary is rubbish utter rubbish unless you happened to live in the most deprived and rundown areas of the country. It was never easy for the young to buy a home, particularly the first one but I do agree now it's harder.

  5. HSBC the UK's biggest bank made less profit in 2022 than 2021. Mortgage rates aren't high, they are very average.

  8. When Labour last left office, they left a note in the Treasury saying that there was no more money. That's why we had 10 years of austerity to rebuild the countries finances after Labour had recklessly squandered it all away.
