By definition working people work. Some very wealthy people work too.

@Thirdfish Who are the poor and what defines them ?

The Government didn't increase energy prices, the energy providers did in response higher wholesale prices. Prior to the price cap being increased, several smaller energy suppliers went out of business. If the cap wasn't raised more would and what business wants to operate at a loss ? You could nationalise, but then taxes would need to be increased to pay for the subsidy required to keep prices low.

His father in law is a billionaire. The moral is obvious, marry money. I wish I had.

Life is hard and it's not fair, so do something about it. The best investment you can make is in yourself as no one else will.

Putin has an estimated net worth of in excess of US$200 billion, making him the worlds richest person. Communism is doing a great job at improving inequality.

All those individuals then move themselves and their businesses to another country with a less oppressive tax regime. Now the UK gets nothing and thousands of people loose their jobs. A small percentage of a very large amount is much better than 100% of nothing.
1
A luxury she can only afford whilst in oppisition.
1
If you want to succeed in life, invest in yourself, no one else will.
1
A luxury she can only afford in opposition.

The best investment you can make is in yourself. If you won't help yourself why should anyone else.
1
Have you ever wondered why experienced Tax Inspectors are poached by businesses who pay them many times their former salary.
1
A luxury she can only afford whilst in opposition.
1
Spot on. It's the same with the rich. Far better to get a small percentage of a large amount than 100% of nothing. Doesn't anyone study economics, it's hardly rocket science.
1
What makes you think that I care about you or anyone else either ?
1
The best investment anyone can make is in themselves. Its a shame that some people don't think its worth the effort.
1
I have always voted and will never vote for Labour scum.
1
The best investment you can make is in yourself. Life is hard and it's not fair, what you achieve is up to you.
1
Why would he even bother to work and why for such a tiny salary ?
1
Do you know how much she earns, probably doesn't meet your criteria of an ordinary working person.
1
@highdefinitionstanleytm9614 It's just schoolboy economics. When demand exceeds supply prices go up and for as long as I can remember there has been a shortage of houses.
1
@MahiTanMazy The easiest policy is to raise interest rates which increases the the cost of borrowing, thereby reducing affordability and therefore demand. You will be seeing a lot of that this year and next.
1
@thewizardssleeve119 How short some peoples memories are, dementia must be increasing.
1
A luxury she can only afford whilst in opposition.
1
@Heather Moore Spot on.
1
@JesusHChrist-q9d An indictment of declining education standards and an ever increasing sense of entitlement.
1
@GETMEASTRAITJACKET The remaining 63% have chosen to disenfranchise themselves so can only blame themselves for being so lazy.
1
A luxury that can only be afforded when in opposition.
1
This is a luxury she can only afford whilst in opposition.
1
No one has ever told me what qualifies a person as rich ? Im sure if you asked 10 people every answer would be different.
1
Former Chief Secretary to the Treasury and now Chancellor of the Exchequer. No doubt you have a better CV ?
1
It will happen at some point and only then will people realise just how moderate Boris was.
1
She has the luxury of being in opposition.
1
He's not a billionaire, but he's very wealthy. You could follow his example and marry money. I wish I had.
1
@keldsleepnot7961 That's so funny, why would anyone want such a job ?
1
@Tryst46 Thankfully your opinion doesn't count for much.
1
So whats stopping you doing the same ?
1
With his wealth he has no need to work but does. Why assume that he hasn't had to work hard to become Chancellor of the Exchequer. Hard work isn't just physical work.
1
Because after being in government his new salary in the private sector would be enormous. In Sunak's case you could ask the question "Why work at all" ?
1
@chillout1109 Invest in yourself, it's the best investment you can make if you want to be other than poor and working class. Life is hard and its not fair.
1
Perhaps he can see the bigger picture, whist you can only see what effects you.
1
The best investment you will ever make is in yourself, it's not easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is.
1
Perhaps if your dad had married someone with money instead you wouldn't have to either.
1
@katecannon7958 Labour did far better, the last time they were in power they bankrupted the country and thought it was such a joke that they left a note in the Treasury boasting about it ! Tories get my vote every time.
1
It's what one in opposition sounds like.
1
The moral is, marry money. I wish I had.
1
Who does our country belong too ? If it's the people, what people as it can't be everyone ?
1
You need to look at Russia or China, we are novices.
1
FPTP is here to stay, neither Labour or Conservatives would vote for a change. PR rarely ever results in one party having power and coalitions are ineffective and never get anything done.
1
Hope you like the cold.
1
It's only a lie when you aren't on the ladder or whatever name you choose to call it.
1
I would rather trust a rich man in a position of power than a poor one. Do you know who is estimated to be the richest person in the world ? It's an ex KGB officer named Putin !
1
Money doesn't make you happy, but it does make being unhappy more comfortable.
1
Well said, you will be successful. I'm sure you know who Warren Buffet is, he said the best investment anyone can make is in themselves.
1
Agreed he is a hugely capable man and had the very good sense to marry money. I wish I had !
1
Very well suited for the next PM.
1
The moral is clear, marry money. I wish I did.
1
Is £82,000 pa plus expenses an ordinary working class wage now ?
1
It's easy to criticise, thats why labour are the opposition.
1
Why are most corrupt societies not capitalist ? Im sure Russia and China would make you most welcome.
1
@thewizardssleeve119 You are absolutely correct. What these people mean is tax everyone but them and give them something for doing nothing.
1
How naive you are.
1
So very true, but I like Boris, he's so much better than many in the Cabinet. Would you want Patel as PM ?
