  11. What she is referring to is copyright infringement, which is usually a civil matter rather than a criminal offence. However as most hymns will have been written before 1926 any original copyright will have long expired and the songs are considered to be in the public domain. After long legal battles it was been confirmed that nobody owns the rights to "Happy Birthday". Thats how ridiculous things can be !
